Just got to look at insurance for an import as that may stop play, anybody got any recommemdations for insurance companies to use that dont hang up or laugh when you mention Subaru, JDM and STI in the same sentence
Right, so who likes the sound of my Psudeo STi 8 two very careful owners ...a good price for fellow wagoners

Wagon noob
Hi I am a noob Wagon owner, Well due to pick it up this week.
my insurance is currently with elephant, but they are giving me grief over my new beast, stating it cant be an import as it is 2.5. I know the car is from Cyprus, but what do I tell the Insurance Co.
Also anyone recommend an alarm?

Hello!
Im new and also a wagon owner. Had my scooby about 5-6 months now and am totally in love! Im a girl and so not very up on anything at all car-related but trying to slowly get to grips with it all. Im likely to ask a LOT of questions!

Hi Clare
Welcome to wagon ownership, I am also a lady wagon owner and don't understand alot of the technical stuff but am learning all the time, the wagon people seem very nice so I'm sure they won't mind you asking questions.
What wagon have you got? Year/colour/import or uk turbo.
It would be good to see pictures as well.

Project STi8 goes Project Stealth

We need to free up a bit of capital in this one so we got some money for tuning ... seriously thinking about a bugeye wagon (silver or black) and the money saved in getting the WRX instead of the STI will fund some serious power, carbon bonnet and nice Rays Rims
Following in the true stealth path
So, NBO may last time you see the DIY STi8 to make way for the 'Stealth Bug' project. Lots of my STI bits will be stripped off after NBO and up for grabs, then I'll be scouring for a donor Bug and some modding 'Bargains'

Hi Smiles :
I don't know anybody that has done this and the biggest part of my experience is on Classics so without having the two cars along side each other and going over them carefully I have no idea what all the pitfalls might be. However there would be quite a lot of work and it would not be a cheap option. I wonder if it would not be better to spend the money on the WRX engine to end up with the same power or even more or are you looking for something else ?
What are your views on the feasability of dropping an STi 8/9 TypeUK Saloon engine into a UK MY04 WRX Wagon. Now I cant say I have ever seen that done yet, could be a first... is it even possible

Thanks for the response ... I have now actually shelved the idea as too much of a headache
So looking at selling the Blob ang getting either a Bug WRX wagon to tune or go for a Classic Sti wagon.
A little bird tells me you have an STi Wagon for sale Need to get rid og my Blob first though.
My concerns of an STi import wagon are the running and maintenance costs as opposed to those of a newer 02 bug for example as it needs to be a daily runner and will be our only car. Also need to look at insurance, most companies I have spoken to hang up when you mention STi and import, can anyone siggest a good import insurer
Cheers

2006 YEAR OF THE WAGON #########
Wellcome to all the new wagon Owners who have found this Thread
Its good to see that wagon ownership has really taken off and we have our own little community forming
sort of like the Brotherhood in Big Brother but without the freaks ,lGays etc :
we are a friiendly bunch and we have our
First National Wagon Meet at the NBO on sunday 18 th June at our Wagon Corner from what Ive heard the stand is going to be awesom .
On the Saturday night we have the first
Wagon Ball and Banquet at our wagon Acomodation although we are still looking for a decent eating place
Any locals can recomend anyware decent Harvey ? SCD Simon ?
as we will have 14 hungry wagoners
so any of the newbys that have just signed in
can you come along to it as it would be nice to link all the wagon owners together from different parts of the UK .

Anyway we can grab some of the independant wagons that have signed up for the NBO thread but are not down for wagon corners. Didnt go last year so not sure what the format is like, do you want me to PM/ mail them all to ask if the would like to come on Wagon Corner stand. just thinking how is best to grab all the wagons for the stand.
Also for planning the wagon parking, what sort of area do we have for it, are we looking at a square pitch - two or three rows of wagons, or a long thing one with all wagons lined up, or a corner display, have all the models and colours lined up

I have f**ked up...I'm going to egypt 10.06 and not gonna be back until early 17.06. i'm trying to find out what time I'll be back in the country so can decide if i can make it; sorry!

You could eat in The Scotch Corner Hotel. Also there is a popular resteraunt a few hundred yards away, The Vintage, so no drink driving. It may be booked up already.
I can't join you guys for dinner as I am pre booked but I will have a beer late afternoon if someone confirms when you have arrived.

Classic STi Wagon.... as rare as rocking horse ****
But boy 'o' boy.... they shift.
I have a 98 STi Wagon (with a facelift to a newer model.) In hind sight a slightly newer model would have been better (say a 99/00) then you can just Ecutek it, rather than plug in a new ECU. I've bought an Apexi Power commander but not fitted it yet. (I'm still abroad!) But bang per buck... they actually cheaper than the saloon... Ssshhh... keep it quiet
A mate of mine has a std uk wagon but with some tweaks (suspension, geometry etc.) He says my car is "different"...
I love it
