I can't join you guys for dinner as I am pre booked but I will have a beer late afternoon if someone confirms when you have arrived.
Will look at how to feed the wagoners, thanks for the tips. Someone can give you a buzz when the Southern Squadron is on the approach path

I can bend you ear about what tuning options there are for the next wagon project .. still weighing it up ... Classic STi or something slightly newer like a Buggeye and tune that. Would love to get a Bug STi but cheapest I seen is about 9k and I got about 7k to play with after I get rid od the Blob

Speak soon

Hello Clare

You'll find a whole host of add-ons at... www.subaru.co.uk

The spoiler you're talking about is called a 'Waist Spoiler'. £250 at your local Subaru dealer (includes painting and VAT but not fitting)

http://www.subaru.co.uk/IMGGB/WWW/Su...4?Opendocument

I'm still on the lookout for a replica, as I think £250 + fitting is a bit steep.

Hi Clare,

Also welcome to the WR Blue club

We are the middle one in these photos

The spoiler is known as a 'waist spoiler' or rear lower spoiler. Whoever told you cant get one is talking nonsense here are some pictures of mine.

As J said these are available from your dealer, I paid about 350 to get mine supplied and fitted by dealer, expensive but well worth every penny.

I whent with the genuine theme as didnt want mine to looked chav'd up and have somethimg you'd normally see stuck on the back of a Saxo or corsa etc

This is mine it is an STi MY97.

I have done I few things cosmetically but nothing performance wise as I don't understand all the technical stuff unfortunately, so wouldn't know where to start.

I had alot of trouble finding mine as well but I was patient and found it in the end and it was worth the wait, well I think it was.

Ooh its beautiful! I am dying to get gold alloys! Like you I am only really interested in the cosmetic stuff, get totally lost when hubbys talks about the performance side, for example, when he told me he wanted to get an 'afterburner' I thought he said afterbirth and said id get one from work (im a student midwife) hehe!

Yeah you sound as tho you know about the same as me,

I think my husband has plans but cos I've spent so much so far on cosmetic stuff it will have to wait till I've saved up abit more, expensive business owning a Subaru

I did alot of ringing round before I got mine cos I was worried about the cost to insure, at the time Tescos was the cheapest and they didn't want a tracker fitted so I went with them, this year I did the same again and Admiral were cheaper this time and they were happy with the mods and didn't want a tracker.

Tescos aren't keen on mods if I remember rightly.

Hi Clare,

Thanks for the praise its taken us a while to get it to this stage, many hours scouring for bits for it and some finds have been pure luck as getting bits for the new age wagons are rarer than rocking horse ***. Majority of my bits are Genuine STi that as i say I have tracked down piece by piece.

You can make some vast cosmetic changes for relatively little money, again same goes for power, but its horses for courses which way you want to go and your personal taste. Some people like their wagons clean and standard and others like them discretely modified for the stealth look, and then I just threw that out the window and whent full on STi treatment

IMO opinion i think the first thing I would do to any wagon is to put some prodrive (or eibach) springs, a WR sport back box on and a rear waist spolier, maybe then add a Scott Lowe Splitte.

Again it depends if you need to keep your warranty as all the WR sport stuff is made by prodrive and sold by dealers it is all approved and covered under warranty.

The 3 wagon shot was at our local hampshire meet, in this photo is a Bug WRX, Bug STi7 and my Blob DIY STi8.

The other shots were at santa pod meet.

Yeah they were fine, the car was listed on the website when I got the first quote and then I phoned just to make sure that they didn't want a tracker and confirmed they realised it was an import.

I was pleasantly surprised at how much it came down in the second year as well.

Not sure that confused was much help, try the Admiral website, some of the websites tell you to phone for a quote after you've spent ages putting in all you're details.
