Default WRX Wagon Tweak Advice

After some advice chaps... Have aquired a lovely, standard late '01 WRX wagon (new shape) which I'm very happy with. However, although I'm keen to stay away from chavdom with it, it would obviously be rude not breath on it slightly, so do you all have any advice on the best route to make it even more interesting. I've spotted Superchips upgrade, but any advice would be apprecitated...

As Granby, Flat Eric, Trails (to name but a few) will tell you, that the stealth wagon approach is the path to enlightenment

My 2 pence worth on stealth styling -

1/ WR Rear Waist Spolier

2/ De-tango lights

3/ colour code and make it all look clean and smooth

4/ eibach or wr springs

5/ 17" rims - Rays or Ultralites IMO - Anthracite/ bronze/ gunmetal

6/ tints - not limo pimp ones, but tasteful

7/ Nnja BB, centre section and de-cat - so everyone knows your arriving but doesnt make you sound like a chav salon

8/ change the front grill

9/ Morrette Quad lights - Jury still out on that

But its each to their own

How far do you want to go, a decat and remap will get you very good results but don't go for superchips as there are too many scare stories about engines going bang after having one of these fitted

what ian said...you won't be able to go wrong with a hayward & scott full de-cat, replacment panel filter and a remap by Bob Rawl. will give you good SAFE gains.

after that it starts to get expensive and more fun

Ah, panel filter - thats good news... I've run 57i kits on various alfas and a Mazda and never been that impressed. The 57i just seems to dispense of the torque...whereas the panel does actually seem to make a nice difference...OK, so in a perfect world a decent replacement panel filter and what system or decat pipe - hayward and scott?? Are you suggesting just a replacement cat section or after downpipes downwards?

full decat from turbo back 3" system...won't pass an MOT tho so you will need to change it to pass.

Talking Wagons have all the tropheys in the UK #######

ditto

everything said above

STi panelfilter £38

Full Decat system hay wood and scott (group buy) £200 ish

( Friendly MOT garage once a year 0

Decent back box 200-£300 ish

That will keep you going for a start

then Eibach lowering springs

Geometry set

poly bushes /rollbar Droplinks about £500 all fitted and set up makes an awesom handling car

Brakes with new dot 5 brake fluid and braided lines about £150 fitted will help you stop in time

that is lordys standard pack for now and keeps me the leader at the Raid across the Border for the last 4 years !!!

and nerves of steel /no passengers and heavy right foot helps

Tuning wagons the Northern Way

Wagons have all the silverware ###############

I'm gong to sort this today hopefully, well send an email to request wagon stand. Won't be same turnout as NBO as only a few weeks to organise, but a small but deadly Wagon Ninja Stealth attack on JAE

wll start a thread in the events like dd for the NBO, also will post up details of the show plates and the fated t-shirts that may be able to get done thi time. Payments will have to be upfront this tme
