Right folks.....

Perhaps there are other reasons why something cannot be posted (legal etc)... I don't know.

Anyhow.... Jon has now updated his website with more information.

Regards,
Shaun.

For everyone's info: taken from ScoobyMagazine's site (looks like a case of you'll know as soon as I know). The whole affair is very sad. I hope Jon and Dee are ok.

With immediate effect, JMB Publications Ltd will no longer be publishing Scooby Magazine.

Further information will be given when legal and financial positions have been ascertained. We ask you to be patient until that time.

Please note: We are unable to answer emails regarding individual subscriptions.
H owever, we will be contacting all subscribers in due course, with an aim to refund outstanding subscriptions.

FFS, why is it, the first time something good gets done, it has to stop?
I was pissed off with not getting the mag, but to now hear they have to pack up is well disappointing. Pity really, as i stopped buying all other car mag's when Scooby Mag came out.
All i can say is, unlucky.

Not so sure luck comes into it to be honest. For any consumer publishing project to work the publishers needs not only reader subscriptions but also ad revenues. From the look of the last few issues Sccoby mag had been forced into selling 'editorial' which is generally an indication that advertisers aren't really supporting the mag. If this is the case they were probably getting peanuts for the advertising and therefore the business model goes t*ts up!

This was run by Jon and Dee only

as for the website being down surely you don't want any subscription money paying for the hosting of a magazine which isn't going to be published again

Jon has said that he will endeavour to refund all subscriptions I guess we need to give him a chance

Agreed but I think a simple post on here explaining things would have gone a long way to dissipating all this animosity towards the magazine.

Have you considered that maybe Jon cannot make a comment for legal reasons?

I think people should stop moaning about losing their poxy £20 or whatever the cost was and instead channel their brains into perhaps trying to support Jon and Dee in getting the mag up and running again.

Half of us go out and spank twice or even three times that amount on petrol just driving the cars at the weekend ... not to mention spanking stupid amounts more on silly polishes that are the biggest con in terms of what you get for your money! Complaining about losing your sub money is just going to put more and more red tape on perhaps getting this mag up and running again ... which I think would be a lot more constructive than Jon and Dee coming on here to answer posts from total hypocritical band wagon jumping members!

I lost my sub and I am happy to say so what ... if the mag gets up and running again I'd be happy to pay another sub to help them get running.

Rant over

I should have also added that if the mag doesn't see the light of day again then I'm still totally happy to lose my subsciption. As the old saying goes it's better to have loved and lost that to never have loved at all.

I'd just like to say well done to Jon and Dee for having the guts to risk it all to bring us all something that the community has been crying out for, i.e. a magazine just for scoobs. Alot of the tw@ts on here wouldn't have the ***** to do something like that and I applaud you both for having a go and trying to make something out of nothing.

Best wishes to you both and good luck.

Then a simple comment from Jon stating 'I can't make comment due to legal reasons' would cover this!

Shame about the magazine. All the best to Jon and Dee.

My mate subscibes to the Mazda MX5 mag and the Scooby mag blew it out of the water with its quality and articles.
Lets hope it gets published again in the future.
