The lottery pays for it ................. please state why that is NOT a good cause and why that isn't an excellent way to spend Lottery money??
Or, would you rather it was spent on some fanny Art project or to keep a Roman Teapot in this country??

First. the Government had the chance to make the lottery a non-profitable organization (Virgin) but chose to give it to Camelot, for them to make huge profits.
Second. The had the chance to do this again when there contract was up for renewal. Again Virgin tried to take over the lottery, again making it a non-profit organization. Blair/Brown gave it to Camelot.
I think if they announced that from now on they would tax winners 40%, alot of people would stop playing.
If they were going to tax anyone, it should be Camelot. They won't do that though, will they? Far better to either a) tax the tax payer, again. or b) take funds designated for charities, to pay for all the governments spending plans.
The cost of the Iraq war is in the Billions. Just think of how many Trampolines could have been bought with that?? The stupid 2012 Olympics is estimated to cost Billion's. What ever the estimate is, times that by, say 5, then thats whit it will really cost. Just look at the new Wembley stadium. Way over budget. Ever other country can build a new stadium for lets say £50m. That same stadium in the UK would cost £500m. Stupid. Look at the Millennium dome £900m, for what ?????? a ******* huge tent. For use, for 1 year.
If this government would stop spending on cr@p that no one wants, then we'd all be better off.

So, a lottery ticket will not be bought if the winnings are taxed at 40%?? Utter bollox!!
Look at the basics:-
Buy £1 lottery ticket
WIN £10 million
YIPPEE!!!!
or:-
Buy £1 lottery ticket
WIN £10 million
Pay £4million in tax but keep £6million
NO YIPPPEEEEE ..... in fact I will NOT buy if thats going to happen!!
See the flaw in your statement??

Last month HMG announced that WE (Scunny) have the second most deprived area in the country, after Harringey, but HMG STILL gave us a p*ss poor settlement for council tax, meaning we'll get yet ANOTHER massive increase, AND still lose services.

PSL,
Apart from your poor attempt at a smart reply, I see you are as ever unable to answer the points that I made in reply to your earlier post.
Does nothing for your street cred. does it?
