What was her eyesight before the treatment?
Which treatment did she have?
My eyes arent too bad so I would be having the non-surgical laser treatment.

What I will say though is that her glasses before were huge great things, so her eyes were very bad to begin with.

Just wondering if there's any chance of an update a few months on, now everything's has time to settle down.
I'm becoming more an more interested in surgery and trying to make my mind up, so first hand experience is really helpful.
Cheers

I had my eyes done with Optimax in Birmingham. Very good, very clean, very professional.
Had a pre-check appt, then about a week later a check-up and the surgery. I had Lasik which lasted 45 seconds per eye. I had to wear eye protectors that day and at night for the next week. I had drops to put in my eyes for about 14 days I think.
Before surgery I was -5 in my left eye and -5.25 in my right. Actually I was worse than that, but that was my contact lens strength. After surgery, I can now see one line below the line as standard for 20/20 vision, whatever that makes my vision, but it's now better than 20/20.
Immediately after surgery my vision was blurry, but once I got home and had a sleep (as recommended by Optimax) I woke up and my vision was perfect.
It's now been 3 years since I had it done and have had absolutely no problems whatsoever.
The surgery was painless and I haven't had any discomfort, irritation or pain at all.
Highly recommended!

I use contact lens that you leave in for 30 days, they are the best thing ever
I hated getting my glasses wet and the red marks on my nose, none of those now
I really dislike sticking my fingers in my eyes but its only once a month, although sometimes I give the len's a clean if i've been wearing a lot of make up. On my third month now and my eyes are fine

A friend had laser eye surgery (lasik with flap - I think) around 5 years ago and it totally changed his life.
He had worn glasses for about 18 years and had a prescription of -8.5 for each eye. After surgery he now has better than 20/20 and has had no problems at all.
The surgery was carried out at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. Cost around £2500 in total but given how bad his eyes were it was money well spent.
I have also been considering having it done. My prescription is only -1.25 & -1.5 and I don't wear glasses all the time (mainly just driving). It would be good to be able to see properly all the time but I have to weigh up the risks given my relatively minor prescription.
I have been told that my eye sight may improve during my forties due to the lenses/muscles becoming weaker with age. Only a few years away so I might wait and see.

I had my eyes done at Optimax in London 2 years ago. I had the "flap" + laser one - can't remember if that's LASIK or LASEK.
I didn't have any problems whatsoever, and could see a noticeable improvement in my sight after just a couple of hours.
Although I haven't had an eye test since (except the standard aftercare tests), I still feel like I have perfect vision.
I didn't have any problems with pain, discomfort, night vision or anything else.
It's the best money I have ever spent, and would definately recommend it to anybody.

The thought of it going wrong, and going blind puts me off. I don't mind saying, but I'm scared to have it done.
I know the cases of something going wrong is very minor, but I'd hate to be that 1 in 10,000 were it did go wrong.
I'd love to have it done, but like I say, I'm scared.

In the end I never got around to doing the other eye as my brain has adapted to it. The untreated eye is actualy pretty good (-1.5) so I'm saving that to use for reading in 15 years time
Another vote for optimax by the way - peterborough
