The Council Tax band for the main house is band H. Such an inbalance when compaired with the rest of the H's in the country.
Interesting to see the video, some of my family live down the road and i still own a few acres of land about 1/2 mile away. Beyond seeing the gates and the gate house you can't see anything much from the road.
I can't help feeling people are just paying for the materails used rather than the house. In 10-15 years time when it's all worn out it's going to be one hell of a bill to refurb!

I've seen the Sheiks house too in Windlesham. I've parked up by one of the gates to take a look and chuckled as the CCTV cameras all turned to face me. Looks like something out of The Wizard of Oz with the path leading up to the house.
I remember being told that the extension work to the house cost approx £20 million
Whether that was true or not I don't know.
Got to say, the house itself looked like a big hotel when I last saw it though, which was a few years ago now.
I used to work in a video shop in Sunningdale when I was younger and the some of the Sheik's daughters and sons used roll up in a stretched limo and driver/body guard. I remember the young boy trying to pursaude me to let him have a top shelf number
Obviously I refused, but nearly gave in when he produced a clip of £50 notes!!! He couldn't have been much more than 12-13 years old.

His house is in Uckfield in East Sussex.
Quote from the BBC website
"Called Hamilton Palace, after Bermuda's capital, it is neo-classical, with a copper dome. It is estimated to have cost £40m so far and is reportedly the most expensive private house built in Britain for a century.
It is bigger than Buckingham Palace and has a 600ft art gallery and a mausoleum designed to hold Mr van Hoogstraten's body for 5,000 years. The mausoleum's walls are three feet thick because he said he wanted to "make the building last for ever".
