I'm back

First off thanks to Curtis and the other guys at Powerstation for the excellent service and hospitality.

Opted for the AST's and also the anti-lift kit (ALK).

The verdict - Difficult to quantify at this stage. It's not like having a remap where you come away with real data, an extra 70 Bhp and a graph to prove it.

On the way home confidence levels were high I went round corners faster than I would have on the standard suspension set up. Car seems to behave more over undulating surfaces. On a familiar roundabout, pushed close to the limit the car is still understeering, maybe I need to fit the front and rear Whiteline ARB's ASAP

Will play with the settings over the next week. Presently set on 5 from soft front and rear.

Will provide more feedback over the next couple of weeks after I've got more miles under my belt.

Dialled in 7 from soft front and rear today and took it for a good drive through some local lanes tonight. First impressions are that it's better for me than 5/5, definately carrying lots more speed into and round the corners. Coupled with the ALK it seems to improve grip when accelerating hard out of a roundabout on a sweeping bend. Happier now than yesterday, more fiddling tomorrow

Good to hear Mike - the set up takes a bit of getting used to and when you do find a srtup that suits waahoo... just given mine their first proper test this weekend and beleive me it all works just like it should - there is a post on the Ultimate Car Control Course if you are interested...There was a lot of interest in the Scoob after I hunted down a few more powerful and expensive cars on the track - mainly thanks to the handling I think...

What made you go for the ALK over uprated ARB's and droplinks..?

AFAIA, it's the ARB's and DL's that make the bigger difference..

I'm hoping to book in this week for the AST's and I'm thinking about the ALK as I already have ARB's and DL's. IMHO the ALK comes after these in order of effectiveness.

Out of interest, what scoob do you have..?

Just fitted the arb; alloy drop links and alk in preperation for the AST's on Friday.

Must admit didn't see a massive difference when I fitted the above. Sharper response turning in but I think I need to get the alignment sorted anyway.

Hopefully all will be resolved on Friday?

well its going to be an expensive month insured my scooby today so i can get on the phone to powerstation and see if they can still fit me in for the coilovers i hope i like them otherwise i'll come after u graham (911)

When you have the ALK fitted you have to have the geometry set up. Made sense to have it done with the AST's. I can fit the ARBs and droplinks myself without having to set geometry. This is my car, STi7. 3" APS exhaust system, Powerstation Remap (330bhp), uprated fuel pump, K&n Panel Filter and PFF7 replicas (pic before AST's)

The mods take a bit of getting used to, and to get the damping the way you like it. It is worth tweeking them a turn here, a turn there to see what happens.

When they are on the sweet spot then you will smile, even when paying the Barclaycard off.....

i'm sure i'm going to love them graham ,chances are i'll end up coming away with a anti lift kit as well.... and maybe arb....mmmm rear drop links?? polybrushes.... o dear its going to be an expensive month, lucky i just saved £600 on my insurance

Have to agree with Graham - play with the settings to get the ones you like - I still find the '5 turns from soft' as set on fitting by PS best, I know some say slightly harder at the front but this setup seems to suit my car on A roads, slightly softer again is better for bumpy B roads. I find I get more ABS chatter with the harder settings and the car becomes more twitchy so I will keep to 5/5 thanks.

If you really want to learn what is going on underneath the car and about your own driving style have a look at this course: http://www.ultimatecarcontrol.com/home-page/ then you can make adjustments accordingly - plus have a lot of fun in the process. There is yet another level of grip and safety available when you learn these skills and work with the car to keep it composed.

Power station real easy to find , (with there map) I went for the full suspension set up job lot done , Car does seem better , After getting back near home all B roads I went around them faster and it seemed to stick like glue And the sti7 clanking has gone

A week on and the car feels so much better. For me this has been a mod that has taken time to appreciate. Set the suspension on 12 from soft (hardest) last night to see what it was like. Suprisingly it didn't feel too hard, on a recently re-surfaced roundabout the car was so flat, tyre squeeling antics followed by my first taste of oversteer in a Subaru in 9 years. Later followed Leigh round the same roundabout in his STi7 and laughed as he wallowed around it

This mod finally gets the thumbs up from me

Cleaned the car today so will post the before and after pics tomorrow. Only a few days left to jump on this group buy. Don't miss out.

hi there i have wr1 with whiteline front and rear anti roll bar and also anti lift kit with steering rack bushes whiteline and whiteline rear diff support bushes hoq big a difference will the ast make ? will it be the final thinkg for the perfect setup? also how hard are they compared too what i have just now ?

Right, the bodyshop assures me I'm getting the car back next week so I rang up yesterday & booked her in for the ASTs.

All I need to do now is think about the Anti-Lift Kit - do I/don't I fit it?

i'm going to have the anti lift kit fitted while i'm there so it can all be set up nicely.... well thats if it don't cost to much to fix the little mishap i had today with snapping my fuel gauge needle off else it could be a bit of guess work driving down south on thursday

Just got mine fitted, along with the ALK, and just wanted to say a big "thank you" to Andy for spending all that time setting everything up just right after the bodyshop didn't bother to do up the rear subframe bolts etc.!

Also cheers to Rich & Curtis for working out what the slight knock was, and explaining that "they all do that sir!" Only joking chaps!

All in all another excellent deal & superb service from the guys at PowerStation.

Now, where are those B roads?
