It's bizarre timing that this thread has been resurrected!!! ![EEK!](images/smilies/eek.gif)
I actually went to look at ordering one last weekend, but then bought this instead: Nick Walker Headless Astronaut Original Painting 1/1 on eBay, also Limited Editions, Contemporary 1980-Now, Prints, Art (end time 08-Aug-08 18:10:31 BST)![Thumb](images/smilies/thumb.gif)
On the above point, I looked at one in New York last time I was there (in-hand, no waiting list) but even with the current exchange rate, after sales tax it actually worked out slightly more expensive and that was before I risked getting clobbered for customs, which knowing my luck I would have.
Cheers for the responses.

Hello Ed,
Long time no speak...this is Yoza on someone elses login.
The 50th anniversary Submariner is a fine watch and will be worth more in five years time than what you will pay for it today.
As you may well know the anniversary model differs from the standard by obviously its bezel colour, but also it has larger hour markers and fingers known as maxi fingers and maxi markers also it has a greater magnification on the date window cyclops.
I have just purchased a Rolex GMT Master II M series with the latest locking clasp and ceramic bezel insert, I am happy with it but I have buyers blues....I have not had this feeling in a long while but I have been buying one off obscure watches of late.....
My best watch at the moment for inner glow factor is the Ball hydrocarbon engineer chrono which is amazing I will try to add link at bottom of page...it is a huge watch not so much in diameter but certainly in thickness, its trition filled gas tubes are simply hypnotic..I had to choose from the standard chrono or the Triest, but I found the Triest to be less substantial then the older chrono so selected the old thicker watch.
I have also recently purchased an Omega seamaster planet ocean with co-axial movement and orange bezel and pushers, a Chase-durer Trident FCXII, to complement my aging FCX1, also a Ball hydrocarbon Engineer Classic, and a Breitling chrono Evolution... these purchases over the last 12months.
The Rolex being the least in the "cant take it off" factor.
Welcome to BALL Watch .....USA
Luxury Swiss Watches - Bell & Ross, Bremont, Oris, Baume & Mercier, Raymond Weil, Maurice Lacroix, Corum and Ball Watches ....BALL DEALER ENGLAND
Chase-Durer Pilot Watches ....USA
Official Rolex Website > Timeless Luxury Watches
PS. The Rolex screen savers are brilliant my latest purchase is downloaded it is the exact model to mine and even runs at the correct time...loverly.

Do you ever get over to bbc ??
Have been visiting and buying and selling on their for about 3 years now, you soon get to know who the good guys are and can save a bundle on some like-new watches and also some older pieces.
Worth a look if your into horolgy
I'm also a member over on watch u seek, timezone, friend of oris and ............ the list goes on. Blooming watches are as addictive as cars plus you can spend as much on them
Regards
Paul

My most recent purchase was a mint vintage (old new stock, still had the wax seal on the rear) omega speedmaster MKII with the GP face (grey with orange markings) which has become my daily wearer.
Since then I've discovered a new passion - contemporary / urban art, so my funds have been tied up with that. I can only wear one watch at a time, but I can look at lots of great stuff on my walls simultaneously and I think the market is going to continue to grow above and beyond just the banksy syndrome, and now is the time to buy (cleverly).

I did miss out on a lovely blancpain recently thought, which was a steal, I'm still kicking myself. To be fair it was a dress watch really, so it wouldn't have got much use as I'm not much of a suit wearer

Hi Yoza
Where to begin.... I doubt I can give you just 3
but here are a few
1. GP Seahawk PRO11 on Ti bracelet
2. Zenith Defy aero chrono aero XT - either colour face, love the el primero movement and it says something that Daytonas equipped with the Zenith movement are more highly sought after than the newer models with the rolex movement
3. Rolex seadweller or the new deepsea - the dweller because it is already becoming a future classic and just because I like the deep sea
4. Daytona, black face with zenith movement
5. to but back the very LE model Breitling Chrono avenger M1 I sold
Current watches are
1. Breitling Avenger Skyland - Grey dial on pro rubber (less blingy than the bracelet model)
2. Oris TT1 Der Meistertaucher
3. Several G-shocks
Here are some that I have had during the past 12 months......

You certainly have BIG watch syndrome...
Also ORIS influx.
Ive never owned or desired an ORIS, they just dont bleep on my radar, I dont know why?
I knew nothing about this watch either but I like it the best from your wish list....
The Watch Quote: Girard-Perregaux Sea Hawk II Pro

Cant you tell where he lives, from the disclaimer?
Dont you like older watches Yoza? I particularly like sixties and early seventies Omegas (Seamaster, Chronostop & Dynamic). I have a couple of Rolex pieces but I can take them or leave them for the most part, but I cant pass an old Omega by.....

Simon,
No I dont like older watches, I can fully understand why people do though.
I have been tempted at watch fairs looking at 60s / 70s Heures, Omegas, Breitlings, and the like but never bought one.

Not sure whether or not to sell my LV- I reckon the price could go either way with the new model on the horizon- although it should stand up there are currently plenty for sale- and there are still some new ones around if you know where to look.
I've just ordered a sea-dweller deep sea, which should be here about this time next year unless someone cancels...

Excuse my ignorance or stupidity....but what is an LV.
Please dont say a Louis Vuitton.
PS. I thought my YOZA logging was banned, but its not, so no more BABYFACE normal service is resumed.

Supposedly a 50th anniversary limited edition theyve made it since 2004. Its like a normal Sub, with a green bezel and maxi sized markers and hands.

BigSinky,
I am glad your SeaMaster is still bringing you enjoyment, I tend to forget who Ive sold watches to on here.
Ive been so long away.
I will PM you my lastest watch availability for your perusal.
I have sold a Submariner, Explorer II, Breitling B1 and Omega GMT but can for the life of think who to.
A bit of dementia setting in.

BLACK FACE daytona!!! No!!!
I turned down one of those after being on the waiting list 2 year back in 1996, disn't like the black face, wanted a white face and held out till I got the white face about two months later (after a few calls to Rolex UK and head office of Goldsmiths). worth the wait.
only thing is just about every tom, dick and footballer seems to have on now days! lol

Ok,so went to collect my Sub LV last week and inquired about the new Omega Speedmaster Alaska Edition as well, mythical beast of a watch, 70's ones sell for £32k now...
YES WE CAN GET ONE FOR YOU!!!
OMFG! Makes the Sub LV look like a tatty trinket.
Best watch i've ever seen bar none.
Basel 08 - Speedmaster Moonwatch "Alaska Project" - Watchuseek Watch Forums
Ended up getting both (didn't care about the Sub any more and could have walked away from it but i had said i would buy it so felt i should stick to my word), picking up the Alaska next week
