Almost embarrassing suggestion, but I really like One Fine Day. Not a laugh your *** off comedy, but somehow manages to give a warm feeling without going syrupy.

whats the film with Jack Nicolson, hes a bit of a wierdo and ends up dating the woman in the cafe he eats in, the guy is seriously Homophobic and his next door neighbour is the biggest queer ever have queer parties too...lol thats a good one IIRC.
