This may sound really silly but ... what are the starting conditions of the 30-70 in-gear tests?
1. Start at a constant speed of 30 then floor it and start timer until 70 or ...
2. Start at any speed you like (under 30) floor it, then start timer when you hit 30
So contant speed or 'drive through' 30 test timings? I would have thought the later.

Drive through is how official figures are usually obtained..
Manufacturers/magazines actually do one run from standing start to 100+ and the data logging equipment works out the usual incriments (0-60/0-100/60/100/30-70) then in gear 30-50-70 runs.
BTW I did mine via speedo but allowed for some re-calibration from GPS (ie I know indicated 63=60mph and 100=106mph). So 30-70 was actually at an indicated 32-74mph..

TBH my old Old PPP'd Sti wasn't too good unless you were in the right gear and 6th would have taken all week for the 50-70, it did do a 13.01 1/4 so so not a bad time...
here's a bit of fun for comparison...
