300whp from what mods. i think someones chatting ****. having the name "tripple'o g" is a bit mongish in itself, with "da hood" as the location. sounds like a scooby with a ebay 100bhp wire.

Ok time to move up a league performance wise

How about a TD05 18/20g

Found someone to map the GEMS yet fella?

Approaching 400bhp you'll need to start thinking about gearbox and clutch - I think Ninnybobs ran this sort of power on standard transmission but it might not last

I've found "The Man" and it's booked in for the 3rd of december.....so turn it up, take the holy trail to the Nurb, bring it back.......blow it up and at the end of summer, put in in the garage for surgery.....

sounds like a plan.......

A couple of things wrong with this.....

1. 300 WHP on a VF34 .... lol thats 380 at the fly wheel lol VF34 cant flow enough air to make 380 no way!
2. The Evo will still be going strong when your gearbox has lunched itself!
3. The Evo will still be going strong when your Subaru drops a big end (When not If )
4. When the 2.5 bottom goes in, Point 2 will be sooner unless point 3 beats you to it but it may be the headgaskets instead

I think maybe he meant 300BHP at the fly as last time we met the car was running slightly poor and needed the map tweeked.

Gearbox issue already mentioned above

Well explain to me how I pulled away and kept pulling with the set-up I have if you're that clever?
And don't say because the driver wasn't giving it because incase you haven't read that bit, he's a friend of mine who was trying and couldn't believe I was pulling on him.......

this place really gets on my ****........you make a statement and people are quicker to shoot you down then listen to whats being said..

Sounds plausible to me Tripple'O G. You've got very similar power to the Evo and shorter gearing. Nice one and good work. Would of love to have witnessed it (try and get the video's sorted)

I do agree that I'd be gentle with that gearbox if I were you, but even if you do have a few 'problems' your running costs are still going to less than that Evo.

Thanks very much.....

My gearbox is getting a bit "sticky" when quick shifting but I think it's gonna hold on for a little while longer....

Complete and utter nonsense this.

FQ 340's are quick cars.

MY car is 6 speed classic with circa 360bhp with allsorts done to it and running a VF 34 with similar torque . I have a mate that has an FQ 340 thats bog standard and its farely close although I do have a slight edge.

So a mildy tuned heavy Bug eye will certainly not convincingly beat one of these.
As said before spend £1500 on the FQ and you'll be left for dead full stop.

I tend to find mine bogs down a bit at that kind of rpm. The difference of getting your launch right or wrong in similarish powered cars can be the deciding factor in who wins. A car with less power, launched correctly vs a car with more power launched badly is no contest. He may well not be able to get his launch down. Thats not saying he wasnt trying mind you

I must say his launches wern't up to scratch....but the one I have on video is when I let him launch first, then I went........caught up, and went past.......
But then there a gonna be people saying my shifting was faster etc etc....

Nice to talk to a few people thinking it can be done.......not just the ones with "seriously" modded cars that because they can't, I can't....

This place may get on your '****' as you put it, but people wouldn't comment if you hadn't of made such a stupid thread..

The Mr clocks a 4.2 -60, and 12.8 Qtr......

Yet you think your Wrx will 'beat' an MR340? Your car isn't even any where near the level of a FQ320 let alone a car designed to be very quick and setup perfectly for its horsepower, yours is a wrx with a few mods bolted to it; yes they may work together well, but i cant quite see it going from 6ish seconds to 60 to 4 ish can you???

to be truthful, i think even a spec c would have to be on its limits to race with a mr340, and thats one of the closest cars subaru do to a rally car...

And this is coming from someone who doesn't even like evo's that much!!

Put it this way. I'd have a go for the log book in either his or mine. LOL.

Have you driven his as a direct comparison to yours. Thats always pretty decisive too.

I am not having a go I just know how good the FQ 340's really are, especially in the right hands
