Stupid thread.........So I started a thread saying I beat an MR340......well I did. If it was driven badly, then it was driven badly, but I even pulled on it rolling....so in my eyes, the evo's owners eyes and the tuners eyes.....I was quicker.

How about I bring him and his car down to the next lodge meet......oh hang on, that would be illegal.

The spec-c is only about 330whp isn't that right? well that be quicker than the mr340 wouldn't it cause the 340 is bhp. So in reality it's only about 280ish at the wheels. Like has been mentioned......so then it would stand to reason that with a similar powered cars it could happen.

Let your mate drive your car and you his. Then you'll know for sure which is the quicker car and my money is on the Evo.

I have driven one and it was very comparable to mine and only slightly down on power and I have spent alot of money on mine.

Not having a pop mate just speaking from real world experience.

That's the key you drive his and let us all know what you think.

No mate, you've got it wrong, the spec c doesn't have 330Hp @ the wheels,that would mean 380odd at the flywheel you numptie...

Most people measure from the flywheel....

Thats what I heard......that it had 330hp......I assumed it was at the wheels cause 330bhp isn't exactly anything to shout about is it??

Most people measure from the flywheel because is sounds better.........I measure whp....caus thats what you use......

If you personally measure from the flywheel and claim your car has 300WHP, then how an earth can your current setup be true?, 300WHp would mean 360-380Bhp at the flywheel...out of your simple mods...hmm.......

And saying that 330Hp @ the wheels isn't much?? Are you crazy....maybe 'in da hood' where saxo's have a 700bhp it isn't, but in the real world, 330 at the wheels is impressive, even at the flywheel its a good figure...

Another reason to explain this 'upset' by the WRX is tourque/power curves. I would guess it looks quite different to the EVO's. Do you have any rolling road print out's Tripple O' G?

So does that mean you're expecting about 360bhp at the flywheel then?

Yes......but why whould I start listing them when i'm being shot-down.....
wait for the print out......and what % of conversion are you all using??
some use 25%-18%-12% cause they all seem a bit too high from what my tuners told me....

Well, if you listed all your mods which would justify your expected power figures, that might stop people from trying to shoot you down?

Im going off the last rr day I was on early last year... 322bhp - 261whp = 19% loss

I think you will find the spec c is around 320 @ the fly,the MR340 is 346 @the fly,just a de-cat on any Evo adds around 10-15hp,like whats been said for around 1000-1500 £ 400/400 in a evo is easy,thats just a de-cat and a ralliart ecu and boost controller...anymore hp than your thinking on internals,mmm! nice set of forged pistons,Autronics or Motec 800 etc etc...in all honesty if you spent 10K on mods and only got 300whp i would be well p....d of!!,chuck that sort of money at a MR 320/340 then your looking major hp!!!!...and the performance would be mind blowing low 10s on the quarter..the 0-60 time that all the burberry brigade love,well somewhere in the low 3s or high 2s!!!,just check what Norris designs or Xreme can do for that sort of money!!

The results are in.........but I haven't managed to download the graph yet......

333bhp at 1.4 bar tailing off to 1.2 and 305lbs of torque starting from 3000rpm..........so yes, I did leave the EVO and will continue to

Get the vids up

I had a play with one in Cirencester, and again got past him easier that i thought i would - and we were both trying before anyone asks. Mind you it was in my classic with TD05, 550's, de-cat, ported headers, upipe & throttle body, FMIC, P-FC and 1.55 - 1.6 bar lol

I thought you had 300whp? yet now all of a sudden you have 333bhp. The MR would still beat your car and the way you made it sound from the starting post you annilahated the evo which simply wasnt the case. Post the vids and prove us wrong.

How can I transfer vidoes from a phone onto the net?
Or I can video them on a handheld and still do it....

What a tit
The 300 was an estimated figure....but from a WRX 333 & 305 will still give most a run.....

Of course I left it........I know how to drive
So no way would it "beat" me......

Put me up next to another MR340 then......

I have seen the clip on his phone and the evo launchs a split second before our boy tripple and he does go past him . I have spoke with the evo driver at a meet and he admits it was a scooby result

I'm unsure about this claim of ability to drive though

Why don't you goto to a place like Santapod on a RWYB day (less busy, more runs) do loads of runs against all sorts of machinery, including evos, and then you can see how you and your car are over that distance in figures. Great fun. The terminal will normal show up your power too. 333bhp (fly), nice power for a WRX by the way, where was that done and what did the RR show the wheel figure as?

It was done at TEG by Steve Simpson............couldn't see the WHP result though on the graphs I was given......

Will be doing a few runs no doubt.......is there anything like that at japfest?

Nobody has mentioned as far as i can see that Triple O G has said his car is running Anti Lag, now if it where a head to head standing start then his car should have the Evo off the line and be away for a while at least as he has no lag to worry about.
As good as the Evo is it will still suffer on pull away from Turbo lag unless it was being bounced off the rev limiter.

Evo 340bhp, 1480kg = 230 bhp/ton
WRX 333bhp, 1375kg = 240 bhp/ton

And the WRX has got a better torque curve... I believe it.
