Hmmm - OK - FOR THE HARD OF THINKING....
Pete hasnt won the lottery - its a scam e-mail - the idea is they get gullible people to give them their bank details, address etc... and then they try and do money transfers from your account to theirs by forging your signature.
Its another variation on the Nigerian 419 scam - 'If you let me pay £50M into your bank account, you can keep £5M of it'

...although Petes real name could be mumbo umbongo, and hes the mastermind behind all these scams, which is how he's made all his 'alleged' money.
Probably worth giving him some abuse just on the offchance.

LOL
I got exactly the same e-mail just before Christmas.
I contacted National Lottery and then contacted the people that sent me it.
Funny.....they didn't want to send me a cheque and I had to pay 500 quid to cover postal insurance for the bankers draught.
Also....strangely enough, when I said I'd go and collect fromtheir office, it was suddenly in Ireland and I only had until the next day to sort it.
TOSSERS!!!
Pisses me off, coz you just know that there are some people in bad situations that will fall for the scam and will get ripped off.

Not just people in "bad situations". A pensioner in Aberdeen was recently scammed out of a six figure sum

In fairness a lot of old people are easly taken in and perhaps more trusting that they should be. Ther are a lot of mean , clever people out there who have no qualms about taking thier money and fecking them over.
