Driving Test Tomorrow!!!

Well done
Still remember the day I passed and went to drive off in my car when I got back from the test centre. It felt so weird driving without my instructor sat next to me

Nice one!
I won't do the whole now youv'e passed this is only the start and you have lots to learn...............
However a short story
I passed my test and went out that night to see my mates for the first time, in the car - on my own. Ended up nearly reversing around a corner into a moving bus - could have been nasty!
Now the real learning begins!

Nothing to do with driving, I just think it's a funny expression!
Try not to swat it; it's not like you can't have another go if it goes **** up so just relax and try your best. BTW might interest you to know that Gavin Kershaw (Lotus handling guru) took 3 goes to pass his test.
Good luck.

EDIT: My post is a little late!!
CONGRATULATIONS!!
Now, please take it easy out there on the roads and no boy racer antics!!

And as tempted as you might be DONT SPEED - even if you think your mates will be impressed - remember you can only get 6 points in 2 years and then you have to do it all again !
Will you be pciking the Impreza up this week then ? ;o)

Also, you'll need time to adjust to not having your instructor by your side. You may be surprised at how long it take for driving independently to feel natural and for you to feel at ease.

well done mate, drive safely now but if you can drive get out and do some rallies!! i done my first road rally just over a week after i passed my test when i was 17, taught me loads about car control and that was my first event of many!! 14 years later i'm still road rallying!!

Well done Matt
Get a little runner and shop around for cheap insurance
When i passed, i didnt miss my instructor, i just missed the red L plates because you could use them as an excuse for making a mistake,ie im a LEARNER and i didnt fancy having the green ones as i thought they where a bit humiliating.
I found it weird adjusting to having the radio on and mostly kept it off. (but now i cant drive without it as it feels like im in an instructors car again)
I also found it hard trying to smoke and drive. (now mastered that art)
And when it came down to filling up with petrol i felt like the new kid at school. (i can now hit a rounded amount without going a penny over)
It doesnt take long to realise you dont have to keep your hands at the ten to two position and you adapt your own driving style.
The best thing i did was got in my own car and took it out at 9pm onwards when the roads are quiet and i learned how to adjust to driving a different car whilst been on my own for the first time.

Congrats Fellow Driver!
It may be an idea to follow up with an advanced motoring session or at least get some tuition for motorway and night driving. A different ball-game completely, but well done all the same.

Cheers for all the comments guys n gals, just got in after going out for an hour or so for the first time by myself, felt so strange, but a lot more relaxing. Strange not having that extra pair of eyes looking out for you.
Ken, already done night driving, 90% of my lessons were done after 8pm, so used to that.
Saz, already got a car, bought a MK6 1.3 Ford Escort a month before my 17th birthday
Thanks for all the tips, i was told the 'you learn how to start driving after your test' onw a while back, so true too.
Really happy at the minute, and looking forward to many years of safe driving

Well done m8
Been trying to talk the missus into having lessons, she's 35 and never been behind the wheel .
Says she's too used to being a passenger and nosing into peoples houses as we drive past now, and would most probably end up crashing into a lamp-post whilst admiring someone's decor
to tell the truth I'm only really after a lift home after a night out with the lads, but lets be fair, I've been her personal taxi for years now
