waved an old bloke into the carwash yesterday and made him stop on the red light, he then took his foot of the brake, with the car in drive, and trundled along the carwash and some speed belting into the brushes

they then swung as far as they could go, the motors on the top hit the blokes roof, but he still did not stop he stopped when he smashed into the car in front

i stood there is disbelief with my hand on the emergency stop button.

i simply walked up told the bloke he was not supposed to drive the car

"it was in neutral honest"

all i could do was shake my head and have a word with the bloke in front, told him i would stop the machine at the end so he could corner the freelander bloke and get his details.

i also told him i would be a witness if required but he never came around and asked me for any details

that has happened twice now

i can remember a year or so back i was sitting in some servies ont he a1 or m1 and i saw a bloke swing into a parking space and nail another car, he looked around, and saw me, then tried to reverse back out out asap, unlucky for him loads of traffic had become gridlocked behind him and he could not get out
no escape for him pmsl

Thumbs up

I had an old guy come up to the bar in a restaurant I was eating in and ask who the green Mazda belonged to. Turns out he had swung into the space next to my MX3 and driven into the inside of my wheelarch. He then came in to find the owner.

Top Geezer. I was so thankful as it was in the middle of nowhere and would have been so easy for him to bugger off. Restored my cynical faith in humanity for at least a couple of weeks.

Obviously was just a nice old guy and his wife out for a meal who had respect for others' property and were willing to stand up to their own mistakes. Cost came to >£1500 as the whole side panel on the car (from front wheelarch round to the back bumper) had to be replaced which was not cheap!

I would certainly do the same, and in a supermarket would use the tannoy option mentioned before.

You'd better hope you don't get a "reward" from the woman you grassed up.
