The latter then. Fair enough.

Hi CAT2,

Do you envisage doing trackdays? I am curious to see how they hold up under duress as well as all-round road use. Which pads did you go for?

cheers
Andy

Thumbs up

Hi Andy, I went for the road pads as it'll be on the road almost exclusively, but I hope to get it on a track soon.

I've had the brakes on there for a week now and they are superb. Very good feel on the pedal and if you give it a good push, the car just STOPS very quickly and with no drama. With the stock brakes, a hard stop didn't inspire confidence - the front end wandered and the car felt like it was on tiptoe. Now there is nothing other than serious retardation and the car feels flat and calm. At the same time as getting the fronts fitted, I got some group N rear discs and ferodo pads from TSL, so I've had quite a lot of work done, but the car really is transformed. TSL were interested to see my brake kit as they hadn't fitted one before. Graham is fussy when it comes to quality and he was suitably impressed. The kit went on with no problems and the calipers were spot on centred on the discs. My (and Graham's) only reservation regards the lack of dust seals - CompBrake assure me that these aren't needed and they will not seize, but only time and miles will tell. The service I have received from CompBrake themselves was superb and I recommend them.

Thumbs up compbrakes

These units are good, very good.
Have had the 15" ( thats 278mm in new money)kit on my everyday use ra for a long while with zero probs.
I have driven hard and then harder still, all over europe and the uk, on all types of surface.
Even drove to sweden twice to watch the wrc.
Using the HPS pads (which i have yet to need to replace)the resistance to fade is fantastic, even with this size disc. Would be even better with the larger 16(295mm), and 17"(330) rotor options.
As for dust seals, having used the car for a lot of competitive marshalling on many gravel events throughout the years, including setup and recce days on 2 wrgb events, on stages like rheola, resolven and halfway, all muddy wet and dusty dry, i have had no problems with the pistons.

Is this a plug? well.... maybe.
Is it a fair all round, all surface road test from a driver that uses them for track, stage, road, impressed and extremley happy with his choice of anti-scenery/vehicular interaction device....ABSOLUTLEY!!!

Perhaps a bit late for a follow-up, but:

My post stated that the T&C's seemed dodgy, and I still think they do. As I recall, the T&C's did not state anything about full servicing etc, but maybe that is written elsewhere on the site.

Helping was exactly what I tried to do by reading the T&C's and providing input on them, and you will also note that I edited my post saying that there are loads of good reviews on the web about the company (or am I only helping if I say that a company has fantastic products and he should go and buy some immediately?)

I still think that the site looks a tad unprofessional (e.g. the way they have a big image with "text"), but then again that obviously does not reflect on the quality of the product offered, as there seem to be a bunch of happy users of their products.

Perhaps I could have used some better wording than "back street alley shop", though

Btw, where have the terms and conditions gone off the page? I might just be completely blind, but I can't find them anymore.
