Yup Pete was helpful to me...

I did read of Harveys problems many years ago and hoped everything would work out...

i had dealings with him at scoobysport and wasn't impressed tbh, had a new engine fitted but it took them 4 attempts just to stop it from overheating, never made a deadline for me, just not impressed. if he was still in buisness i would not be seen in there again.

I see a post I made, probably 12th February has been totally removed. It was there last night and I re-read it when I saw this thread had been brought back to the top. That is bang out of order. A bit Big Brotherish.
It had sat here for 3 months only to be zapped in the last 24 hrs. I have no problem with sensorship, (if it is necessary) but I do expect the common courtesy of an e-mail to say it is being removed and why. I accept this board is not a democracy and do try to toe the line.

My removed post stated quite simply that at every twist and turn I gave Croney a way out and an opportunity to settle the matter fairly.
The court case could have been moved to Basildon but he elected to come to Teesside, in person and was represented by a lady solicitor. The Court case was totally avoidable as he will have realised in hindsight when arrogance, eloquence and misrepresentation did not wash with the judge.
As I sat listening in court, I wondered if he (Croney) really believed what he was telling the judge. Anyway the judge did not as was evidenced in his summing up.

Agree with you wholeheartedly Harvey, I cannot understand the logic applied for removal of posts. Certain posts are defamatory, insulting and iciterful but are left in their entire glory. Your post was an account of actual events only for some jobsworth to vape it! Go figure?

Okay, while we are at it I knew a Peter Croney, he lived in South Shields and drove an AEC Mammoth Major, a powerful lorry in its day. I could always call upon Peter to cover the odd job in the North East as a sub contractor. He retired in 1983 I have not heard from him since
