Ok to answer your questions:

It happens on boost and usually around the 6.5k RPM mark
Yes the exhaust bangs once its recovered.
The injectors have all been fixed and are thoroughly secured.
All the main earthing points have been rubbed back to bare metal.
The engine loom is earthed to the inlet manifold.

I'll get some contact spray and see what that does.

What boost did Andrew set it at? It could be blowing the spark out.

OK slight change of plan for the moment!!!

My soon to be ex-wife (not soon enough ) has taken it on her self to drive her Freelander into the front end of my scoob. This was to get back at me for telling her i am divorcing her on grounds of unreasonable behaviour. This is the damage she has done and just totally supported my case for my divorce. The weird thing is we've been seperated for 9 months. What did she expect??

She reversed about 5 metres and then planted her right foot on the accelerator

So its down at Scoobyclinic getting the bodywork sorted. Hopefully it will leave there in better shape than it was before this happened.

Not sure yet. I think the intercooler might be ok. One of the pipes is a bit squashed and has damaged the timing belt cover and a crank pulley but the engine wasnt running at the time and hasnt been cranked since.

Rad looks to be bent but until its stripped down and looked at I really don't know the extent of the damage.

I'll keep you all posted.

No mate that's just it. The police have only cautioned her.

My insurance company are paying for the repairs and have said that if her insurance company doesn't pay then they will be suing her for the cost.

I will also be suing her for loss of earnings currently 2 days at my day rate which will no doubt rise when i have to take extra days off to sort the car out.

Atleast its going to make the divorce easy.
You can just imagine the conversation from the judge or whoever makes these decisions. "What grounds do you have for unreasonable behaviour?"

"erm here are the pictures and here is the bill from Scoobyclinic"

I may not be able to get her locked up but she'll be skint for a long time

Also going to get a restraining order against the bunny boiling antichrist that she is lol.

Daz,

I've only just seen this - I don't know what to say. Unreasonable behaviour doesn't cover it.

I believe that to write a car off the repairs need to be in excess of 60% of the value of the car before the impact.

The insurance company may want to write it off, but if you speak with the engineer who inspects the car, they will probably let you keep the car, and offer a settlement figure which should be enough to fix the car.

That way you get to keep the car, get it fixed where you want, and it doesn't go on the hit list as a write off...

In the past I have had similar experiences, and come out well in front with the money situation..

After waiting for what seemed eternity the insurance company have finally authorised the repairs. Scoobyclinic wasted no time and started stripping the car as soon as they had the authorisation. Let's hope they are as good as people say they are and that the car is tip top when I get it back. Perfectionsist is an understatement when it comes to that bloody car after all the work I have put in to it.
I'll keep you posted

Default Update

I have been to Scooby clinic to check progress today.

Its been started atleast.
All the headlamp and radiator support brackets have been replaced as has the bonnet although nothing has been painted yet.

Expressed my concerns regarding the LH inlet pulley which hasnt been looked at yet. I think its been damaged as all the casing has been cracked and considering the work i have put into that engine if they try and start the vehicle and it the pulley / cambelt been damaged they'll screw it.

So hopefully that will get looked at in the next few days. Pulley and timing belt checked atleast. Fortunatly the car wasnt started at the time of the accident (i use the word accident loosely) and hasnt been started since so if it turns out the engine is damaged they'll have some explaining to do.

They have said it will be a couple of weeks yet. A little too slow for my liking but as long as they do a proper good job I'll live with that.

I'll update you all as soon as i know more.

Daz, did you ever find out how much power the car produces now? Sorry if I missed it in the thread.

Pretty certain he is still running around on my loaned VF28 Floyd.

Good to see it coming along Daz, i expect a trip in the passenger seat when you have finished with the turbo and bring it back

No worries mate I haven't nicked off with it.

The car is at scooby clinic. As soon as I get her back I shall be purchasing a new turbo and you can finally have yours back.
I know i have said it before but I am very grateful for the loan of the turbo and shall be delighted to let you have a go in her when she's finally upto spec .

Floyd

As Mark said I am still on his loaned VF28 this has always been for running in and sorting out any niggles. The car has not and will not be rolling roaded with a borrowed turbo on it.

I would imagine though with all the mods lots of fuel (740's are at 70%)
and the bigger pistons she's around the 350 mark at the mo.
The real test will occur once turbo has been sourced, fitted and the car mapped accordingly.

Been down to Scooby Clinic today for an update.

Progress indeed. Car is pretty much ready for painting.
The good news is that the camshaft sproket and cambelt is all ok.

I've decided to have the mirrors, door handles and skirts all colour coded while its there.

Heard Kev say to one of the lads that it needs to be out this week so there is a distinct possiblilty that I shall be getting the car back fairly soon.

Fingers crossed, I'll keep you posted.
