Kevin it is but we can also now get a rubberised stone guard which should also help reduce some tyre noise as well. Of cause you have to be careful you don;t want to add to much weight Give me a call and I'll let you some of the options

Dynamix Powerstation are actually tuning another UK MY06 2.5 STI at the moment

Regards

Iain

Don't talk to me about weight issues Iain. I'm in full blown anorak mode these days. I've already imposed a weight limit for Sharon's luggage/shopping. She thinks I've gone at bit easyjet if you know what I mean. All baggage must be stored behind the seats; nothing allowed in the boot.

Fair enough mate but making sure all passenger have a dump before they get in the car is going a bit far!!

I'm giving her formal notice that she's got to go on a diet. The Spec C doesn't come with a passengers sunvisor. I've now had to buy one to shut her up. That's extra weight and it needs to be lost somewhere.

Great write up and I have to say reflecting my experience of Iain and the gang.

I had to wait a little (lot) longer from order to delivery as there were no cars in stock. Other than that it was exemplary service and the Spec C is such a fabulous car - very, very special.

Just fitted sounds to mine - the great P70 Bluetooth Pioneer unit - but the Spec C only has two speakers and they are not good. More speakers - more weight - uh oh!

Enjoy the car and I, like you, am looking forward to the engine loosening up even more.

And finally - the sound is very addictive with the Miltek - not Scooby - but very motorsport

340 and similar torque for just a remap and Miltek system/K&N filter.

sounded sweet though.

Is 123 bhp drag normal?

232bhp at the wheels does not seem that impressive

Excellent write-up Robocop - good work fella.

Hope you get to grips with the car too. You should try to get it out on track at Castle Combe on 31st May when we are there - see Trackdays and National Events forum.

Cheers

Hi

Here's a cut n paste from Richard @Powerstation from a previous post. HTH

The flywheel HP figure is the sum of the HP "@ the wheels" and the drag measured during coastdown. The Coastdown drag curve is exponential. The wheels figure is meaningless without some form of drag measurement. All these factors affect the power @ the wheels. Tyre type/size/pressure/temperature, gear/diff ratio, gear oil viscosity and gear selected. The gear ratios and gear selected have the most dramatic affect because, simply put, the greater the speed the more the drag hence the lower the wheels HP figure.

The greater the speed the higher the drag figure and the lower the "@ the wheels" figure.

It should be noted that the drag figure measured on a rolling road is far greater than you would experience on the road as on the dyno the car sits on 8 small circumference rollers which deform the tyre. The drag measured is true though, you would have a lower drag and a higher "at the wheels" figure on the public highway.

I hope the explains some of the variations seen between different cars.

Rich

Behave

You'd be sure to put plenty of miles on her on track - if you're worried that driving 4 miles to get there doesn't warrant getting the car out of the garage
