Throwing a dart into the same area 7 times, then 2 seperate other areas is easier than 37 completetly diffrent shots to make on a snooker table. The action of throwing a dart is repeatable from the same starting point for 7 of the 9 darts, wheras the ation of a snooker shot is different every time, be it position of the player, strength of shot, side / stun / screw etc. The positioning of the ***** are different every time etc. Snooker is immensely difficult compared to darts.
A general way to access which is more skillful is the amount of prise money involved. Put it his way if the World darts champion picked up £1/3 million then I reckon you'd see a few more 9 dart finishes.

The two games/sports/pastimes/whatever are completely different. As to which is 'harder' then it's a pointless discussion as it can't be quantified. I'm sure Steve Davis would find getting a 9 dart finish far harder than a 147 break at snooker.

I think the easiest/fairest way to judge it would be how hard a non-professional would find it to do. Now i know for a fact that no matter how many times i tried, i would NEVER get a 147 break. Chances are i wouldnt get a 9 dart finish either but there would be a chance, no matter how small...

If you compare individual sports that don't require athletes - and lets face it , golf, darts and snooker are definately from the same mould - I would say average earnings of the sports top ten does dictate the skill level involved.
