Took your time Mattee!!
OK, I do prefer Mattee's approach but then I have also used creatine in the past. For muscle bulk, you really need to eat a high protein (2:1) meal within 45 minutes of you finishing your workout. For tone you need to eat a high carbo (2:1) meal within the same time period.

I used creatine for a bit too - does what it's supposed to but I'm not keen on long term use. Liver can suffer.
I just eat normal real life food and do plenty of weights/cardio. More than happy with the "results" as is the wife...!

Remember they are just a supplement, and not magic fairy dust, and you'll see good results from using the right supplements.
I have used Cyclone loads, very good but expensive and tastes so horrible. I now use myprotein.co.uk supplements, Weight Gainer Elite currently, and have seen superb results, althou does hit the belly too.
I have used myproteins version of Cyclone, called Hurricane XS (seriously). Has creatine etc in it, and is a very good all in one that tastes better than Cyclone and is cheaper.
I eat well too and try get a lot of protein and calories, but when you consider that you need around 1 gram of protein per poubnd of body mass for muscles to develope well after tough workouts then you soon realsie you'd be eating so much chicken and steak you'd be ill!!
I supplement a protein good calorie rich diet with around 50 grams of protein in supplements a day, and with weight gainer elite you get a good dose of carbs, which are also essential for good msucle developement and often gets overlooked by people looking to build up.
End of the day you hear so many people go "protein shakes are rubbish, blah blah blah", and then you ask them what their diet is like, how hard/often they train, how much sleep they get, and what excercises they do, and you soon discover that the supplement is the least of their worries. Get all that about right, add in a decent supplement, and you'll be outgrowing your clothes in no time.
