If you went out and bought a £5 per month line rental with no "free" minutes or texts etc, the above 3 deal would cost you £355 for the content that they give you "free"

My wife's N70 arrived yesterday and its a good phone. Quite nice to use, but a very small keypad.
I however ordered me a 6280 from 3 today which comes on Tuesday so I'd say the 6280, but I'll be in a better position to judge mid week.

Well,
I've litterally just come off the phone to ORANGE (retention team)
Retention... My AR$e
Conversation went something like:
Me: My contract ended earlier this month.....What are my options.......
ORANGE: we don't have many good offers, but i will see what I can do....alternatively PAYG or we can issue you with a PAK......which will allow you to go to another provider
Me: I fancy the N70, is that available....
Orange: Yes but That'll be £280 sir.........
mmmmmhhhhhhhhhhhhh PAYG/PAK is sounding tempting !!
My current contract in £15/mnth...... 120 mins 30 txt don't wanna pay too much.....
but that was a bit hefty....
I think I'll give them a day or 2 and ring to cancel the SIM ALTOGETHER !!!
Phil

My 6280 arrived this morning and first impressions are that I'm well impressed. It feels slightly plasticy and a bit cheaper than the N70, but the functions and menus are so much easier to use. The camera is also really good quality.
I'm still finding my way around it after 4 or 5 years away from Nokias, but I'm pretty confident I made the right choice.

Going to take a while to get used to it, but I like the fact thay you can see what your usage is straight away - is it via the internet? Dunno, but it's easy to do. Games are a bit crap, alot better on the N70.
Spoke to a 3 customer service guy in India to port my number across and he seemed very competent. Going to take a week - is this normal? He was very polite and I could understand him and he, me. Unless I'm mistaken at this point, 3 are better at Customer Service than Orange!!
Orange did absolutely nothing to keep me. Do you think they've given up? Their sales/customer service people must know that they're rubbish deals and not bother to entice you to stay. Vodafone always tried their utmost to keep me before

Anyway, for the 3 hours I've had the phone, I'm very impressed with both it and 3. We'll see if they carry on impressing me......
