I know someone who is into all that and current does all the logistics at Farnell and has worked for Christen Salveson (i think thats what they're called) and has afaik some good contacts. he is at his current position very senior
I can speak to him if you want.
On another note - not sure if you know about the courier side, but a buddy is after being a self employed delivery driver do they (dhl) take on?
Why are they closing btw?

Not sure about DHL couriers using owner drivers, think they are all actually employed, but ANC (now FEDEX) used to use owner drivers, I can give you a number of a sameday company based in Warrington however they do cover the whole country they use owner drivers. Generally though to be honest for owner drivers, the money isnt usually that good
They are closing as the factory is in the middle of a housing estate and needs lots of work etc etc etc to make it upto BP standards. Also a lot of product is exported and they have capability in europe to make certain grades over there and so they save lots of money on costs etc for exporting.
