next cheapist quote was off compact surfacing limited

  • Area – 37 meters squared
  • Excavation Process – The removal of all existing surfaces to a depth of approximately 210 mm and deeper as necessary on softer ground.
  • Preparation - Type 1 MOT hardcore base including crushed brick to the overall area, compacted and consolidated to a depth of at least 100 mm. Sand blinding to 50 mm over MOT.
  • All freestanding borders to be laid on a concrete bed as is the heddar course at the entrance to the drive.
  • Block Installation - Installation of ‘Plaspave 50’ blocks, in a brindle colour, in a herringbone pattern with heddar course border.

The total price of the above specified work will be £2 221.00 including V.A.T. at 15%

if I book within 2 weeks he will knock 5% off

think I will go with dyson though

you may get it cheaper but the council have to do it at their cost, so if the council were to find out you had the kerb lowered, they would charge you for putting it back, and then charge you again for lowering it (whether they physically do that I dont know but it happened round where I used to live)
