Dave.. It's going to take an awfull long time to download (must be on a Mac ) and it's wanting to upload stuff from my machine.. Not too happy about that, so I'll wait for Super to bring along the DVD...

I'll do it tonight and cut to DVD for you. Do you want it to play on a DVD player or on a computer?

Will do raw mpg if computer or proper DVD if for DVD player.

DVD is preferable, cheers mate.

I'll take a Mini DVD to the meet so that we can play it on the night if the fancy takes us..

Bit Torrent PC file-sharing app Mac pioneered Limewire, where a 350mb file would take IRO 2-3hrs (dependant on your and the clients connection speed) with no seeding (the uploading bit). I downloaded a few of the TG episodes from finalgear.com and they took 26 hours each When I get a big enough HD I'll download the lot whilst I'm on holiday or something and then host them on Limewire for everyone. Or just write them to DVD

Default UPDATE........

OK. Thanks to Simon for waking me up regarding this...

However, all has not been quiet behind the scenes...

Due to issues around getting enough interest and problems with attendees not being 100% on attendance, I've made an executive decision to re-schedule.

I would like to point out the word re-schedule, as it's not been cancelled.

The re-scheduling will also enable us to bring on board several key members who weren't able to make the May date and for us to change the destination slightly.... The key member bit is very important as these people are good friends and make the club what it is... I feel it only right to make what is probably a one off trip for some, more available to the club..

So the plan is this...

To re-schedule back 2 or 3 months to July / August and change the destination to take in the Stelvio Pass.

Now, due to the lowish take up for this trip, Dave's suggestion to take in the Stelvio may mean that this becomes more of interest to more people.... I know Dave will be up for this if we get the date right.

So. My apologies to those who may have made plans... But I think you'll agree that we need to get a wider interest and bring in more than 4 new and older members to take part in such a visit to what is undoubtedly a fabulous driving experience...

What do we do next????

I'll start a separate thread shortly to canvass opinion on dates.... The destination is taken as granted, but we need to make sure that Dazza, Dave & Helen, Mick, Dave C and all the other who showed interest but were unable to get the time, inclination or money together to make this one.

I'd like to point out that this won't be cancelled again. If we get 3? Then 3 go.

Post your comments or abuse here... and I'll start another thread to outline the re-scheduled WYIOC Roadtrip

Al

as one of the people that was going at the end of may i think your decision is spot on I would have gone anyway just for the photos but without key members the sence of adventure/risk would have been a little less plus if ALAN C and me have much more probs with the cars it would have been one polo and one lantra plus my budget would have been streched a little with quite a few outings this month as well as repairs to my car /plus i can now buy that daft thing i might just see at scooby shootout.

so my point being top decision AL and rest assured i'll be coming were ever it will be ps i think that the ring would be a top place to visit and with the recent flux of enjoy-bul motorway driving at high speed the autobahns would be ace and relative safe (from the police)

cheers and looking forward to it james

driving up the stelvio and surrounding hills
24mb, wmv.
Well worth the trip to the swiss mountains, but don't get hung up on the stelvio, as its not the best road around the area for driving

Nice one Chris, but with roads like that I'd have taken the car mate.

What's the chances of a combined trip with some of the SMACS crew? Or is it a case of 'been there, done that'?

No harm in opening it up to our membership, I'm sure some of us would love to come. Not me at the moment though, as I'm saving for more of the same in 2007 with hopefully the same people as last year, + others
