r32 ? Are you serious ? I hope not. Some of the office pranks we do in my office are incredible, just good old fun. Some poeple are just born losers and find reasons to move the blame for thier self failings, to others.

I love a good prank, and have had many a good prank done on me. My current one is regarding a chap who is leaving today. Ive quickly filled in the leaving card on other peoples behalf :-), Ive also covered over his front number plate with "I AM A ****". As he's park nose in, he will never see it.

IVe come into work, and my whole desk / pc has been removed, dismantled and Ive had to `find` everything.

ITs called fun, and makes the dull 7-7 office life more bearable. That, and eyeing up all the girls that come through.

I've done that to two of my old work mates. "1 AM A T1T" & "1 AM A T1T2"
The funny thing was that one of them had a private plate. And when he drove past a school and was stuck in traffic loads of kids were pointing and laughing. He thought it was his so called cool private plate and started waving back!
I nealy wet myself when his wife told me the following week. He never actally admitted it because he was so embarressed!

if you did that in our office, you,d be colecting your p45

where in your contract does it give you free reign to act like a 10 year old??

What happens on the day one of your customers comes in to do an audit? and you cant find the data they need, as some prankster has removed your desk,

unfortuntly you seemed to have missed one valid point, you are payed to work, not pratt about like some schoolchild.

Unfortunatly you havnt yet grasped the final outcome, all that happens is it escalates, until either a serious injury or a firing occurs.

I worked in an office once where a bloke was blinded by an office prank.

not a good prank where one man looses the sight in one eye, and another fired is it.

A rather harmless variation on the number plate one was done recently. I managed to pursuade my local garage to make up a 55 plate that read TO55ERS and gave it to a friend who had played a trick on me. They thought it was fun and fitted it to the car. Harmless fun, nobody hurt and was nothing to do with anybody's work place.

I think this thread needs to be split into two groups.....

Tiggs was probably bullied mercilessly as a youngster and felt the need to bodybuild with steroids in his teens.

openly admitting and aiding and abetting a criminal offence, thats really clever on an open board!

would it have been so amusing when your mate got a producer and a £30 fixed penalty

I don't get this at all - if it was your business you were running, therefore your bottom line you were affecting, how would you feel about your workforce dismantling each others desks, sellotaping each others cuffs together etc etc?? Would it be just a little fun then, do you think? I thought not.

nope i work with customers who place multi million pound orders, its called proffessionalism(sp)

and you seemed to have missed a vital point,

you are all responsible for the health and saftey of yourself and others in your workplace,

who do you think picks up the tab when an accident occurs at work??

employers and insurers can and will follow the chain and will file claims against individuals where an accident is attributable to them, due to not following or circumventing h&S procedures.

i reckon you'd last a day on the shop floor and about 10 minutes with my old boss

Tiggs, what do you do for a job ? Im a Sun / Solaris Contractor and have been for over 8 years. I worked in nearly all the investment banks in city, multiple ecommerce projects of popluar stores that you probably go on. So, as to min salary / wages . . . . lets say I can keep my end up when it comes to buying drinks at the bar.

One thing I learnt, people love working with fun people. The key to my success was having a personality, as I can be fun / serious when needs be. So, when there are serious problems, Im there sorting them out til 2am, dedicated to the cause, but also able to have a joke and get on with people when times allow.

Anyway, would writing more but rumour has it that there's a `bundle` next door, and then a game of `British Bulldog`.........

So can't can't do two things then? You can't have a laugh and a joke with your co workers if you are working then? You don't sound like a very good employee then?

In fact you might be a very bad employee as your inability to take part in morale boosting activities might affect the productivity of those around you. Sounds like the sort of guy I wouldn't want working for or near me.

Yes because practical jokes and general jovial behaivour are a major insurance cost, up there with negilgence and gross misconduct . Talk about making a crisis out of nothing.

Tiggs / Mart360, if you two are so into the coreect way of working, then why are both of you on this site during work hours ? ???

Bit of a contradiction there ?? Unless both of you work for Subaru and can consider this site as vital to your businesses, then Im sure it will consitute an `ilegal` site. Mmm company internet mis use I believe ? Mis conduct ??

Got to go, its my turn on the swings................

Unfortunatly you have missed the point, we all have the ability to joke, and let of steam, but dismantlling desks isnt fun or morale boosting. how would you have expalined that one away

sounds like you work in a very typical office with no prospects, with an overbearing middle manager and the only way you can let of steam is to be childish.

how much responsilbilty do you have??

when we let off steam its a night out on the p*ss

Ask my next door neigbour who is blind in one eye if he thinks firing paper pellets with laggy bands is jovial??

What makes you think he could last 10 minutes with me?

if thats you attitude i wouldnt want to

Well, that explains it all then. I bet those two discuss important office behaviour whilst queuing for their dole cheques, is it still called the dole ?

What ever the case, each to thier own.

Anyway, as its nearly lunchtime, last one to the canteen is a *** .....................

thats a really clever statement isnt it?

come on then slarti, lets see what type of employee you are.

where do you work?

how many jobs have you had?

do you like a gamble?

would you risk all to better yourself

can you handle it when things go wrong??

would you walk from a well paid secure job, to better yourself at anytime?

would you give up 5 years of your life to hold down a job and do a degree course in your own time, just so you could get on?

when you can answer yes to the above, you would see how crass your statement was.

go back to the kindergarten, and play with your fluffy toys

I love it when people use the word "tosh", makes me think of Rumpole of the Baily.

Do you drive an old Wosley ? or Austin Eleven ? Wear an eye piece and still believe that the sun doesnt set on the empire ?

Infact, are you allowed to have a sports car if you use the word tosh ?? Sort of contradicts itself.

what are you on about???

it just goes to show what the whole thread is about..

it starts as a quick prank, and then another , and then its get your own back, and as we are seeing its escalating, moved away from office japes, and now into throwing insults and digs at peoples employment status.

bottom line is you go to work to work, if you want to f*ck about then do it,

when you get canned, it kinda makes you think was it worth it?

MArt360,
where do you work? :- Work for myself, have been for the last 8 years

how many jobs have you had? :- Loads of clients

do you like a gamble? :- Yes, everytime I suggest a 3some with my g/f and her female friend.

would you risk all to better yourself :- Yes, have done.

can you handle it when things go wrong?? :- Only way you learn.

would you walk from a well paid secure job, to better yourself at anytime? :- Yes, I left Noruma at 24 on £38K a year to go contracting. Lost my first contract after one day as the finance was pulled. So, left a £38K a year job for nothing. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

would you give up 5 years of your life to hold down a job and do a degree course in your own time, just so you could get on? :- Yeap, I went to college on an OND, then went onto Uni to a degree. 2.1 I might add ! :-)

when you can answer yes to the above, you would see how crass your statement was. :- Well, I can.

Go get a job you bum !
