Update: Scoob booked in at Scoobymania first week April for a couple of niggle fixes, new centre Defi gauges, replacing the Stickers that got took off when someone crashed into me (Grrr) and getting the sound down to a max of 105db.

It's then booked onto a general trackday at Elvington, Saturday 22nd April, for a general shakedown test ready for May 21st.

I'll be testing some "special" rubber and various tyre pressures on the day but with plenty of time for a few thrashes round the track. If any of you would like a passenger ride feel free to come along or even... book your Scoob on as well and have a play. £95 for the day

Good one Alan - looks like plenty in attendance and a good club outing on the cards.

Any news on the shirts?

Al, you've got me down as fire extinguishers and first aid but I seem to recall you took them home from the trackday. I certainly didn't

Mick, I didn't see yours... Have you a big one?

Dave. I've got the First Aid kit with the extinguisher in and the bigger separate extinguisher... was that all you took?

100 'www.wyioc.co.uk' stickers cut and ready.

Designs for Ian's livery being put together now.

Flyers are either here (home) or at the unit. Pray that they're here, 'cos the unit's in desperate need of the world's biggest tidying session. A combination of moving office (4 weeks ago, and still in the middle of it) and taking on too much work but don't fear I'll find 'em...

As for a banner frame, a proper thing's gonna cost a good few quid, looked into it for last year's Rising Sun-day. I'll dig out the prices and options when I get to the orifice (noon-ish)

I'm not.

I hate it.

I never wanted to be a sign maker...

I only wanted to be a lumberjack

I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK
I sleep all night and I work all day.

He's a lumberjack and he's OK
He sleeps all night and he works all day.

I cut down trees, I eat my lunch
I go to the lavatory.
On Wednesdays I go shopping and have buttered scones for tea

I cut down trees, I skip and jump
I like to press wild flowers.
I put on women's clothing and hang around in bars.

Suspenders and a bra.
I wish I'd been a girlie, just like my dear papa!

Update:

Went for windscreen today. They had the glass but not the seal so I need to go back there for 8:30am tomorrow. No real problem since I'm not out drinking this afternoon or tonight with my buddies. I got food poisoning on Wednesday (my birthday) and my stomach is still so painfull I can't stand even up straight. That's why I missed Thursday's run out even though I've been looking forward to a run to Hull for ages. I was in agony after driving all day to Warton and bacdk on Thursday...

Also added to this the final mapping on Thursday was so vicious (we were stress testing under load) it's broken something. If the car is left to idle the water and oil temperature just creeps to the point where it will boil both. Either a dodgy thermostat, a water pump or maybe even a head gasket - D'oh!

So tomorrow it's windscreen and full valet, fingers crossed for Sticky to do his stuff over the weekend, up at the crack of dawn on Tuesday to get to Scooby Mania (Nottingham) to get the car fixed before the interview/photoshoot.

Anyone get the impression that I'm jinxed? I like to meet someone with worse luck but I doubt they exist. BTW - just before the food poisoning I pulled my left shoulder out which now has nerve damage + my road tax was due just after budget when it went up, then my car insurance renewal arrived!

They say nothing worth having is ever easy but Jeeze, I think I've almost had enough...

Well now lets see, 2 weekends ago, the Saturday before the trackday, I came downstairs to find a puddle of water on the floor in the dining room bay, it filled the whole bay. There was a squeclhing noise when walking in the dining room and hall, both wooden floors, plumbing connection found to be not even done up floors currently up in hall, downstairs WC and dinning room so just concrete. A few weeks before the Scooby had sprung a leak, 2 top rad hoses and a new header tank later I think that is now sorted but then there was today.

Decided to tidy the mass of wires under desk in office, decided to put screws in wall to mount 2 x 6 way power strips, first one fine, second one, under radiator, drill pilot hole, check, looks like pipe, move position drill pilot hole, check, looks OK, drill in, remove drill and SH*T , water water everywhere but not a drop to drink.

Big hole in wall, carpet ruined, underlay ruined, wet patches all over ceiling and down wall in (furtunately) garage underneath.

House now looks like some sort of squat with bits of furniture here and stuff piled up there, absolte god damn mother f***ing nightmare

So, here I am, person with worse luck than you, see you at the next meet

Hmm, issue there was a perfect car with a dealer that did'nt know a Ferrari from a Reliant Robin!

With the Scoob, everytime I seem to make some headway, something happens to put me back i.e. someone crashing into me, half brick bouncing off the windscreen, head gasket blown, etc, etc

I'll be OK tomorrow, just tired of being ill and having the never shrinking list of "todos" on the Scoob...

Also - I'm very thankfull for going with Scooby Mania for the build. Their patience with me and customer service is outstanding. I really want to promote them and the WYIOC at Scooby Shootout.

Update:

Up at the crack of dawn (for me!) to finally get the Windscreen replaced this morning.

Just had the car valeted and gone over it again when I got home. Even got some brasso on me pipe!

It looks absolutley mint! Forgot how good the Subaru blue looks with gold wheels and red AP Racing brakes. Not that's it been dirty for long

Sticky is just putting his final tweaks to the livery design. They're going to look fab and sing the club name loud and proud

Then it should be all set for an early start in Tuesday to get to Nottingham, get the overheathing issue fixed, final clean and then the interview/photoshoot for Jap Performance Mag - phew!

Fingers crossed nothing else happens in the mean time!

Update:

Big thankyou to Sticky - he's been at it for 7 hours straight on a Bank holiday Monday!! His design, all his own work - all hail the Sticky King!!!

I love it and feel like a kid with a new toy

All set for the interview/photoshoot with Jap Performance Mag tomorrow + a few niggle fixes at Scooby Mania. Overhearting problem

Then it gets it's Toyo 888s on Friday, ready for the shakedown/trackday at Elvington on Saturday (22nd April)
