Did anyone else watch that programme "Come Home Gary Glitter?" which was on last night? It showed his trail through Spain, Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam looking for kids. In one country he actually paid visits to an orphanage. The Cambodian authorities admitted that cash greases a lot of palms so god only knows how many times he's got away with it and how much damage he's done. In one (very poor) area of Vietnam the reporter secretly filmed himself negotiating to buy the 12yr old daughter off a family for 3 days for $800. Glitter is one sick **** and hopefully jail justice will be dished out.

Unfortunately not, generally your treatment in Asian jails depends on how much money you have - it'll be easy for him.

Also don't forget we see this from our Western perspective, this sort of crime is not viewed anywhere as seriously in Asia as it is in the West. Times are changing, albeit slowly, but many poor Asians would sell their children like this without a second thought.
