Bought it from a lady that was getting divorced and it was her husbands ex company car from 1979 and hadnt been driven since Mayday bank holiday 1991. It only had 34500 miles on the clock and had original bill of sale and no previous owners on the log book. I asked her what she wanted for it and she said 'does £500 sound about right?' After nearly choking I said 'go on then'.
It cost me 50p to get it through its MOT and the car was mint. Dont know how they got my number but I had loads of calls as soon as it was seen outside my parents house offering loads of money for it.
After six months playing Bodie and Doyle with my mate round the north yorks moor I sold it for £3500 but something like that has got to be worth nearer 8k now!!!!

130TCs are awaesome I used to have two at the same time. I must stae that I reckon the 130TC was a much better car than the Golf GTi or the 205 GTi.
Swap the carbs for 45s and rejct on a guy croft manifold mated to a big valve gasflowed head and you had a car with the kind of midrange punch that was actually scary and amazing throttle response !
Almost bought another not long ago. Oh and they have the best seats EVER !!!
