They got paid for the initial equipment & would still get £21 per month for the Entertainment pack - cheez this is hard work!!!!

Try paying attention to what you are reading m8 - I do have a SKY+ subscription (not sure if a SUBSRIPTION is different?) - the thread is about being expected to pay £10 to be able to record programs on SKY+ if I stop Sky movies & sports.

I don't see what you are whining about. It wasn't exactly in the small print but was pretty clear when I signed up for Sky+.

Shock, horror- Sky TV is a rip off. Who would have thought any company owned by Murdoch could possibly be dodgy.

Just waiting now for the "I put my ********* in an attack dogs mouth and surprise surprise he bit them off" or "Hired Gary Glitter as my babysitter and he molested the kids" threads.

FFS the whole thing is a rip off and if you didn't see that coming then more fool you. How about you just cancel the whole thing and try doing something else with your life than watching TV?

As I work nights and watch TV on a afternoon I find Sky + brilliant (shock horror ) records all the series I want (with series link ) on its own , loads more space than umpteen videos and far less ar$ing about , can record all the bike /car racing I want and watch it when I want , never had a problem with the box and for £10 a week its a steal .

(In my case )

I've had Sky for several years and pay for the full package I think. I get the Sports, Movies etc. Kids like to watch Stargate etc. I like the documentaries etc and occasionally the movies. Never watched a game of football in my life so not too fussed about the sport channels.

Perhaps I need to review exactly what I'm getting for my money?

Presumably, from reading the posts above, I should have been offered the Sky + package as well for no extra charge?

Ring up an threaten to cancel i'm sure they will upgrade you to a sky+ for nothing. I found it a good idea to ring up every few months and threaten to downgrade, 9/10 times they would offer me a discount or free channels at no extra charge to stay on same package. Just need to keep them on their toes

The extra £10 is because the Sky+ box contains 2 tuners.

A bit steep as there's no Sky+ with a single tuner available and also you can't watch 2 channels at one through 1 box.

Deffinately cheaper for me to subscribe to a premium channel as I've got 3 Sky+ boxes, me & the wife have one each & the kids have their own.

( cos you fill up the scooby every 3 days)

and your on the special £10 rate again !!!

Well I'm with Big Den here [although was aware of the potential for a £10 rip off charge to get the HDD functionality when I signed]. I paid for the box and own it; SKY have to provide no additional support for the HDD function so I dont see what there is to charge for - it's all down to the hardware and a quad LNB dish that I have ALREADY paid for outright.

I elected to take the movie package rather than pay the £10 premium as at least I am getting something tangible then. I have watched maybe 2 movies in 12 months so am wasting cash.

Is there a Freeview HDD box with two tuners out there that has all the nice hardware functionality of SKY+ [live pause and recording with series link direct from the programme guide etc]

As I said, the charge is for a second tuner, because you can record 2 things at the same time....
