Right folks, got to the bottom of it............took it to Fiskens this morning, and had the code read (although cant fecking remember what it was 
) ...Anyway, they said that it was the exhaust gas sensor (i.e. the same as when i decated it origionally) they said that it could, but not totally sure, be due to the fact that my car had sat for 4 days with no battery and that th ecu might have been reset.
They cleared the fault codes and whats even better is that they didn't charge a damb thing.
Now I can stop driving like a *****, bed me new 6 pots in and have some real fun wit the reassurance that when i press the brake pedal it actually does something.
