I can understand registering a second username if you want to ask advice on a private or personal matter where anonymity is desired. Especially if there are Scoobynetters that know you personally, who may be surprised to hear that you are thinking of leaving your wife for your young hot secretary!
Anyone who registers a second name to merely troll is a very sad individual indeed.

I posted something under a different username once.
I'm not saying what it was I posted or what username I adopted, but there was a very good reason for wanting to remain unidentified...
And no, it wasn't a shagged the wrong person/got a rash/may be gay/agreed with PSL admission thread...

I had a few usernames on my account in the beginning when I joined in.It was because,my partner was using SN as well at that time as well as,we kept forgetting our passwords. We just couldn't be @rsed getting new passwaords.instead, we re-registered each time with a new name.
Now i only have 5,i think!
Muppety reasons only.nothing can be hidden here anyway as, the IP address can be checked easily<shrugs>
I don't remember any of their passwords anyway so,they are all sleeping usernames for months.

I set up another one recently, to start building up a post count to then go on scoobynet and abuse people at will But I don't have the time or the real mean streak needed for such antics, so I'll let my alter ego fester and die
If I want to say anything on this board, I find it best to wait awhile, then someone from muppets usually comes along and says it anyway.
