I thought classic cars were driven by sad old men, who spend more time cleaning their cars than driving them.....

That's right, I drive a Lotus 7 derived car, if that's not a classic design, I don't know what is

Anyway, it's not that serious a post, bit of a laugh and most people seem to appreciate I'm referring to the naming of the model rather than whether it's got classic status or not.

GC8 - cheers, missed your post. Thing is, what happens with the new impreza when it comes out? newer new age???

Why were you shy about admitting to driving a BMW, Mr. 4.4 V8 daily driver? Is it not a 'classic'?

I think I'll start calling it the Impreza Campus, just like Renault call the old Clio a Campus when the new model is released

Can't win on that can I? IF I say 'my 7 series bmw' people will go on about bmw drivers, show off etc. if I don't I'm 'shy about admitting driving a bmw'! Great car that it is, won't be a classic. the westie on the other hand

Steve - great idea, Campus!

Yes but how classic is the Westie in the pouring rain of the supermarket car park? Granted on a blast it will give one hell of an adrenaline rush but not very practical is it? The Impreza on the other hand.........

Not meant to be practical. Anyway, one big luxurious car for shopping, long journeys, driving in crap weather etc. and one one for pure fun. Any other way is, ultimately, a compromise. I ge the best of both worlds. The impreza is fun and practical however it's no-way near as fun as the westie and no-way near as nice an comfy as the 7 series. Fortunately I don't do high mileage else the bmw would HAVE to go, it drinks too much (sound familiar )

I've gone from Imprezas to a similar ideology.

Audi A3 for family transport and motorway work, with a Clio Cup for track and the daily commute.

I do miss my Imprezas but life goes on!
