LOL If I had a pound for every time I have heard that I would be a rich man its an urban myth, 8 or 9 years ago maybe but all the top brands quote around 70,000 hours (on average viewing thats about 10 years) mine is about 5 years old now and it is as good as the day the box was opened

But that said with HDTV only months away could be worth an upgrade soon

After you have changed channels a couple of seconds later the red interactive dot may appear (Sky Digital), if it does press the back up button and normally this will take it off the screen, but this will have to be done each time after changing to a channel that has the interactive red dot, and normally after ad breaks too. Hastle I know but the problem is with the broadcaster making the red dot to bright

You can normally remove the image burn by feeding a clean white image to the screen for an hour or so but I will look into this for you, can be done with a PC but maybe John1uk could burn a DVD with with a clean white screen?

Mark do you still have my number if so call me re the 32" so we can have a chat or PM me with your number so I can call you

Hey do you still have that side profile pic of my car as I am thinking of some graphics, maybe you could photoshop it for me

Thanks m8

Chris

A guy at work is looking seriously at buying a Pioneer 506xde or a Panasonic phwd8 (might have that one wrong)

Can you PM me your contact details so I can pass them on to him

If you can't help him directly I said you'd probably know someone who could.

Cheers mate

May be able to get the Denon just let me have the model number and will find out Sony and Pioneer have a couple of good HDMI DVD players, Sony have a new QS referance quality player about to come out @ around £99 sounds like its gonna be good too or you can wait for the Playstation 3 with its twin HDMI outputs and DVD BLUE RAY!!!!!!!!! this is TRUE HD as a HDMI DVD player will take a normal 520 line DVD disc and upscale it to 1080 lines (fake HD) but DVD blue ray is true HD filmed with 1080 and even 1950 line cameras

Big Boy, I thought he was talking about your waist size

Anyhow, I know the real reason why you bought such a big TV, it's so that you can have a life size Penny Smith or Chantelle ( ) in the living room whilst you're doing the hoovering!!!

Just don't let Mrs ESC catch you slacking

I know what you are saying its a bit of a nightmare for a HD format @ the moment but the PS3 will take off weather Blue Ray does or not. Sony decided to use it because Blue Ray can store more data than HD DVD so that means better games and HD films without shelling out loads for a stand alone player .
