Years ago I went to Liverpool from Norwich by train with my sisters ex (nice lad but smoked hash) after we got off the train at Lime ST we went down an alleyway so he could have a spliff and low and behold a copper (big **** too) came up and caught us making the spliff.

Took £20 off each of us and my mates gear and told us to "fvck off before I nick you"

100% true story.

I come into contact with "bag heads" most days of the week and I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them. These people will sell their own grandmother for their next hit!

It is however possible that the officer found the drugs and then seized the phone and cash as possible evidence that the guy was dealing drugs. But then he would have locked him up at the time?

Simon.

P.s. as for the story about the £200 from the cash machine, I dont believe that either! If I was on duty and I arrested a guy for D&D and he told me his father was a chief constable, the last thing I would be thinking about was robbing him!!!

I think you may be slightly biased being a copper/civil servant. I have no doubt a lot of stories about coppers robbing people are untrue .Smackheads have less to lose so they are more likely to be dishonest IMO.

As there are thousands of coppers in the UK there has to be a small minority that give in to the temptation to earn some extra money. Maybe £19,000 a year starting wage isn't enough for a bobby? Maybe they could go on strike ,complaining that you have to deal drugs to subsidise your living?

I guess I may be slightly biased. I certainly would never do anything like that, its just stoopid. I guess there may be corrupt coppers out there, but ive never been exposed to anything like that and I dont know anyone who has.

We cant strike, we're not allowed to, its in the contract!!

Must be 15 years ago, back when I was a kid (about 17). This copper was HUGE and quite old and there was no way I was going to argue with him, so it was easier to just let him got through our pockets and take the money and dope so we could just be on our way.

P.S: I've got the utmost respect for the police and think they do a wonderfull job, yes you get the odd ****** but that's true about everything in life.

My mates a copper and was out on the sniff the other night. I mentioned it to him and he said they do have random tests, so smoking ganja is out of the question as it stays in your system for months, but this is not the case for the white stuff !

despite the fact that there are the odd rotten apples, you have to have respect for the police.....society has to....if trust and respect go,generally then you have chaos,as in n.ireland a few years back.the police only exist effectively with general community pespect...without,they are useless.

Think you'll find its more like 1 month, not several.

And if the Police, like some private companies, start doing hair strand tests, your mates fecked. Everytime you take a drug, it leaves a trace in your hair.

The fact is, there are corrupt police officers who abuse their position. Although incidents of corruption are rare and isolated, it only takes a few reports for the public to begin to dis-trust them.

After all, these are the same officers who are not supposed to be racist.

just got to laugh....."my dads a chief" so the copper thinks he's a good candidate to steal £200 off!!!!

why is it the stories of iffy cops all come from drunks and crack heads!

I'm sure 90% or more stories about corrupt coppers are absolute crap ,but we are all human and have moments of weakness/stupidness.

I thought that might have been the case with not being allowed to strike ,otherwise it would have happened before now surely?

I would like to say that I'm not anti-police at all despite some bad dealings with them in the past. I was only at a police meeting today to discuss crime stats etc and the bobbys were very helpful.

I understand it's an extremely hard job and a thankless task sometimes.

It's reassuring that you haven't seen or heard of any of the corruption in your force.

It's banned by act of parliament, nothing to do with being in the contract (as mentioned earlier) 192? Police act if memory serves me right. Bloody good idea too IMHO

I know 4 coppers on a personal level,2 of em are that bent(not the fudgepacking kind) they cant even walk straight.

These stories dont suprise me at all..

But having said that,i wouldnt like to do the job,all bagheads, scum, thieves and the like want a good filling in,perhaps it may stop them reoffending.A £10 fine and digging up plants for a couple of days certainly doesnt.

So all the police go on strike but it's illegal so best go and arrest all of them for breaking the law Anyone see the flaw?

They may have been drunk but they certainly are not crackheads.

Why is it that people who believe that all police are honest and without prejudice are naive and quite possibly idiots ?

How many SN members have posted about cops behaving badly in the past ? Or are they "crackheads" also ?

Furthermore, may I draw your attention to this report http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/rds/pdfs2/rdsolr1103.pdf published by the Home Office regarding "unethical policing".

Or are they lying too ?

ewan
