FFS dont start writing obituaries for the papers mate !
Fair enough none of us knew Gene Pitney personally and it doesnt really matter to us, wont make a blind bit of difference to me but you need to understand that people can be a bit touchy about death, would it make any difference if he was related to me in some way, what if you posted that somebody close to you had died and some smart **** started ranking the ****.
Look at certain other threads on here, you may get the idea, though after 14,000 posts I would have thought you had, look at the concern regarding Sara's mum's illness and Leslie, I have never met those two either.

Don't wish that exscooby, I know you are very angry but that is something you do not mean. I think Jamie probably realises the error of his ways and said something off the cuff which he may now regret. A great person was lost today and the last thing we should be doing is fighting one another.

As for the other 14,000 odd posts they have probably contributed very little to this board or with helping other members and their cars
Just dont know why some people are hell bent on ruining this once excellent board!

Bloody hell, Ted! Just because you've been on here since the Impreza was a Model-T doesn't give you the right to assert that none of our posts have been constructive. I'm willing to bet that at least 600 of my posts have been to help out people who have posted with a problem!
And it's still the best board I've ever been on.

I think what this thread shows is that Scoobynet is just reflecting modern society. There are some really genuine thoughtful people on here, and then there are complete slack jawed ***** like Jamie. Jesus, even his name gives you a idea as to what a ******** he is. I imagine he's the sort of bloke "who thinks happy slapping is a laff", and when it goes tragically wrong its "So what, **** happens"
Nice one Jamie, rock on eh son?

Hey Bubba don't be implying that over 400000 of your posts have not been constructive.

No, I was referring to TT's five hundred-odd contribution to the rich tapestry.

I think at least someone rips the **** out of the latest public grieving SN thread.
It's suprised me that Gene Pitney one would actually get any reaction at all

Actually this wasn't a public grieving thread at all.
It was simply posted as a news item (without sad smilies or comment) as it was felt it could of been of interest to those with memories of that era. dl

I don't get all this hostility. Recognising and paying respect to someone who has added to the fabric of human life and individual lives in a way that only a minuscule proportion of us ever do is a far cry from a mile-long queue of idiots waiting to sign a condolence book so as to be part of the occasion.
Get some dignity and respect in your lives for frig's sake.

Way of the world I'm afraid Bubba. Do unto others as you would have done unto yourself. Or if you have nothing nice to say then don't say anything.
