If you can come up with £2650 buy next weekend you can have ours 1.7 Merlina Blue CD muliti play Lux pack, ie heated front screen AC, Traction etc etc 98R 69k Good condition was going to put in the trader but going to PX for the new car we pick up next week end others in trader for £3k+
Have to say it was a fecking great little car, sometimes I freightened my self with it's handling through the back roads, we are only getting shot of it as we need a motorway muncher for HC for work so we are picking up a Seat Leon TDi 110 next weekend

The 1.7's had traction as standard. It is a pretty crappy TC system though and only really worked at stopping wheel spin when setting off from a a standing start.
I had a Cuirass (no laughing at the back) Puma from brand new in 98. I loved it and it's still the only car I really regret selling.
It was great fun on track days even though it ate a set of brake pads each day and disks didn't last much longer!!

Thanks Big Den
It's funny how the advert had negotiable in it and the mileage had dropped
As for the pride of our fleet the mk2 we use it for mainly single venue rallying and Huxley Chick"from muppets" is my main Co driver and Wonder Wagon has sat in the suicide seat as well here's a picture of it in action

Fantastic wee cars (for your wife or girlfriend as they ARE gay.) My wife has one (my mother in laws old one) and I have to admit it is great to drive (albeit very embarrasing as they are SOOOOOOOOOOOOO GAY.)
I occasionally take it out to 'clear the cobwebs.' They are fast and handle great; as noted above, the gear change (with that alluminium gearknob) are very precise and smooth and the engine/ exhaust give off a nice raspy note. Ours is the 1.7 LUX and I reckon the stereo is a belter!!! Much better than the crap Subaru give us anyway!!! I regularly get in her car and Girls Aloud or similair are blaring!!! The levels of equipment are superb (that heated front screen is fantastic in frosty weather.)
The intermittent wipers have a cool variable setting that not alot of people know about as they do not read the manual - basically, flick the switch on twice, the time difference between the clicks is the time difference between subsequent wipes - bet you never knew that!!!
Ours needed the following when we got it:
1. A damm good T-Cut/ polish full valet (took me all day!!!)
2. A new clutch (car had about 52,500 miles)
3. New exhaust (only needed a backbox however it is a one piece from the factory as this one was)
4. 2 new tyres and tracking
5. New rear top suspension mounts - apparently these tend to go
Finally, it is a Ford, so try and get as new as you can as rust has set in on some of the old ones particularly round the rear arches. Ours has a couple of rust spots on the drivers door check/ sills probably as it is a continually damp area during the wet weather. Also ensure you get a FFSH if you can.
Here are some pictures of my wifes car which we got for £4,000 about 6 months ago (as it was kept in the family.)
