Gutmann, a good example of what will happen to Impreza's is the 205 GTI.
I remember 5-6 years ago there where loads of them around, thrashing it around town centers with stupid bodykits.
Whereas nowadays the aren't many left, but the ones that are around seem to be very good, clean exapmles (and a few track cars )
I used to hate them, but i'd now fancy one as a second car.....except they seem to have now gone up in price. Catch 22 situation.
Give it a few years, and the crap ones will have died, and the youngsters will be killing GTS Skylines, and the GTR owners will be selling because of the Skyline image!!!

For those that dont like the way the image of imprezas are heading, tehre is a solution.
The next generation Audi A4's. Not gonna be nose heavy and gonna have a 40-60 torque split just like the current RS4.
Bit more pricey though. 32k should get you one with 300hp and quattro.
I for one think the scooby image isnt all that bad.Maybe its because where I live there arent that many boy racers.

Theres quite a few of them in germany
My STi gets lots of admiring glances however, and people stop to chat in car parks and at petrol stations. Your average German businessman pounding down the autobahn in his 6.9 ltr Merc hasn't a clue what it is however!
Belgium and The Netherlands are a different matter - quite a few around, including older GTs (Classic Turbos).
Cheers

They have the rep that they used to have in the uk in netherlands, still a cult thing although there is quite a few around.
France seems to go down quite well, mine was generally ignored as a normal car.
As for spain, I think it got more attention than if I'd cruised down the street in a murcialago. On a few occasions people were actually pointing it out to there children from the street and I would usually get at least someone commenting when I parked up (just a std RB5).

Similar things have happened with the Escort Mexico, MK1 and MK2.

i consider myself a car enthusiast and i drive a classic scoob. It never has and never will bother me who else drives that type of car, as long as im happy with it. Not driving a car because u see chavs driving them does'nt mean u walk away from it, thats just letting them win.
I mean, i think Porsche is "the car of w@nkers" but i would'nt say no to a 911. Just the rest of them
