My STi gets lots of admiring glances however, and people stop to chat in car parks and at petrol stations. Your average German businessman pounding down the autobahn in his 6.9 ltr Merc hasn't a clue what it is however!
Belgium and The Netherlands are a different matter - quite a few around, including older GTs (Classic Turbos).
Cheers

Got some photos taken in Petrol stations of the Scoob and was suffering from Germans overtaking and then slowing down and over taking again just for a look. Felt a bit paranoid at first The Scoob loves 100 RON V-Power Shell though Top Stuff.
With Prodrive applying for F1 status it may be the slippery slope or the new Dawn. Who knows?

I quite liked your Scoob, as I like dark wheels and the track look, but it was a bit chavtastic IMO, similar to the huge amount of stickers you have on the 205 Again no offense, but random stickers chucked on a car really bugs me.
I wouldn't personally drive a car with huge bodykit on, 20" wheels etc, but I dont mind looking at them when done properly, and admiring the work thats gone into them.

I purchased my first Impreza with delivery millage in 2002, at the age of 22. Always wanted one, and can honestly say that at the age of 26, still love the drive, ride and performance of the car, just think it lacks in interior quality. I was close to getting a 2006 model, but when i went to the dealers, he advised me to wait to the end of the year/ mid 2007 as there are plans for a completely revised model. I headed his advice, and am now playing the waiting game.
To be honest as with any car that has been around for a while with older models now in th £3K region you will always get the chavs attention and the bolt on Halfods mods.
I can say that I will be purchasing the 'NEW 2007@ model......

Instead of dreaming about your next £25k car that will be shinier/faster/better/more 'Evo' than your next door neighbour's, just buy the best car that you can afford, for cash, out of your own pocket. I can assure you when you spend 5 grand of real money, that you earnt with your own hard work, then it puts a different perspective on things - you look for value for money, longevity, performance, fuel economy, load carrying, stealth, ease of tuning etc etc - and not whether the car is currently someone else's flavour of the month. A lot of people on here need to do some growing up. IMHO
I've got a MY00 and have had it for nearly five years - I think the image is well on the way to being trashed.
I hope there is truth in the comment that the really nasty examples will evaporate in time but I may well have traded mine in by then.
Got to say that since becoming single I'm more conscious of it and as there aren't many girls out there that appreciate a man in an Impreza any more.

I liked Peanuts comment yesterday, it kind of summed it up for me......something along the lines of parking in a car park and it being the first time he was ashamed of owning a scoob......
Its not that I dont like scoobs its that IN MY TOWN the transformation in the last 3 years has been amazing. From nice well looked after enthusiast cars to midnight town centre runners, doing 7000rpm in 30mph limits.
As has been said, in years to come the good cars will still be around and will be worth a few quid. The dross will have gone to heaven.... The problem is its the dross era that we are going into at the moment.

The poll is split pretty much down the middle so the thread I started which everyone said ''yawn yawn its been done before'', has certainly sparked plenty of conversation and over 200 people to vote.

Would be interesting to see what the results would be if posted on a cruiser site, anyone a member of one?

It's looks ridiculous when you see middle aged men in a Scoob. I can totally understand why they would buy one but the fact is you still look a dick to most other road users. If you can live with that then cool.

My missis liked mine when I bought it, 3 years on she couldnt wait for me to get rid of it.
Most of the people at work laughed at the ironing board on the back and the huge scoop on the front......thats another issue for another thread though.

that previously I had no quarms about the scoob in the car park, some would admire, some enthusiasts would enquire about it and Im sure the rest couldnt give two hoots about it, but, for the first time I actually wished I didnt have the scoob as one of the guys who started here in the morning had a lairy arsed import (assume 93) WRX that had carbon **** all over it, tacky lights, was bragging that this 2.5 was his third engine as he blows them up regularly, oh and he's running over 2 bar of boost. maybe a touch of the Walter Mittys but my standard looking Impreza got lumped in with his chav-mobile, where before it was a standard looking car that did a fair bit of track time and the majority were happy to allow me my foible....
