Scoobys still have a great image

I live near a school and every morning many heads turn as I try to drive past as quitely as possible

everyone kid knows (and still wants ) a scooby .

Go past the local chav meeting place/cruise site/McDonalds and you get the admiring glances from the chavs and bleeched blonde young birds who think you can help father their off spring to get their dream 3 bedroomed council house


The scoobys have a <chav > image unfortunely now but any more mature car fanatic still gives you respect as having a car that is still an Icon after 13 years .

How many heads /coments /provoked reactions would you get if you drove a A4/ BMW/ lexus IS200 / or any other run of the mill car ?

The scoobys will stand the test of time and survive like Ford RSs and develop and expand on the unique cult image they have now

We just need Insurance hikes /cost of living /petrol prices / servicing costs to go up to get the undesirables off the roads in the next few years .

At the NBO committee meeting tonight this will be discussed and a scooby -chav spotter will be apointed to do an official head count at the NBO 4

Like I said weird forum, but also a very busy one, just a real shame about all the bull.

Kind of a moot point as the ******* around our way in the 2-grand binners:

1) Don't insure the car
2) Live with their mums
3) Can still stick in £5 of petrol every night if their mates chip in.
4) Don't service the car...they'd sooner spend the cash on a Burberry re-spray

Don't get me wrong, I like Scoobs (owned 7 over the years), but laterly was becoming more and more embarrased by the attention the car brought. You could tell people automatically earmarked the car as another offensive boy-racer-mobile....which unfortunately is what the Impreza has become.

Its a very weak minded person that gets rid of a car or shows a dislike towards a car that they still own all because of what other people think. Cars are all about the individual. Joe Bloggs down the road with his impreza that has a bodykit like it should be on the BAT mobile tells his own story, that he is a ned.
While i have a standard looking impreza with the only mods being under the bonnet cause thats the only place that interests me, so it tells a very different story.
Point being, 2 completely different people with the same car. Every car is in the same boat here, there is always somebody who has different tastes to you, that does'nt mean u have to get rid of the bloody thing.

I think there's a lot more BMW 3series gone to the dogs with awful wheels and body kits which cost more than the impreza new and now are worth much less for the same MY.

Don't hear anyone complaining that they've got a bad rep and those guys should be even more stuck up than new age drivers lol

I am not the normal driver profile recently described above. Quite the opposite.

I see several great Imprezas day by day and some that are not.

Most are driven well imo, few are pratting about with jerky driving in the wet around roundabouts and off to the McDonnalds/pub/shopping center to brag how sideways they had it while overtaking the Porsche/Ferrarri/police man.

I think you will have a wide cross section of humanity to every 'desireable' object, from Paintings of art to Super Bikies to Cossie etc etc.
