Anyone noticed how everything is going up in price?!!

It is really noticeable how prices have increased in the supermarkets now. The retail price index ahs always been a fiddle erring in the Goverment's favour, never so much as now too. They are very selective in what they use to calculate the one that they boast to us about.

If prices have gone up recently then it will be seen in future RPI figures to some extent. As has been stated earlier, it is a weighted index based on a pattern of expenditure.
If you want to know what products are price monitored then you can find it here:-

There's two measures, the Consumer Price Index and the Retail Price Index. See pages 15 to 29 for a list of the items monitored. I don't think the Office of National Statistics are out to pevert the inflation figures because of political reasons. The reasons why certain goods are included and the weightings that are given are published. If you can find obvious fault, please identify where and give your reasons.

It just seems to me that if anything we buy goes up in price, then it all contributes to inflation. So all those prices rises should be considered when working it out.
Is that too simple for us all or not political enough?
