I'm glad I didnt follow it 10 years ago when I first got a mortgage or I wouldn't have over a £100k of equity in my current property now.

Whilst I have a loan, it's not secured on the car or anything. Just cash straight into account, then paid the dealer with the debit card.
I can't vote in the poll though, since I have a Series 3, Legacy B4-RSK and your poll just lists two types of Impreza.

Own my 95 wrx wagon outright, Actually swapped it for an alfa gtv. Don't know if that was a big mistake now but I do love the wrx's....just this one is a bit of a lemon I think!
If I had stuck with don't get a car loan I don't think I would have ever changed from my metro! I agree with the sentiments that as long as your loan is no more than your car is worth you can't really go too wrong.

Ive only had my wrx two days, but its all paid for part X'd my saxo vtr and gave the guy a cheque for £1500, job done went to scarbrough last night, was immense !

Sold all my Golf GTI bits and air rifle to buy my 93 type ra for £3700 six months ago.
Paid insurance in full (£670) and have spent £3000 on mods like brakes, clutch, suspension, FMIC,remap etc. All payed for, i owe nowt
