Ferrari 360 Modena vs Scoob with sub 340bhp

Very curious results however. At Elvington I ran my 993 Carrera and on the quarter I was pretty middling in terms of pace. Running mid-13s as I never quite mastered the two wheel drive take off thing. But here is the thing - whilst performing in the bottom third on quarters the top speed run was a different story.
The simple aerodynamic capability of the 285bhp Porcshe pushed it into the top six on the top speed run. Massively trouncing Scoobs who on the day were struggling to break 140mph. Only a couple of Scoobs and the Datsuns beat it. There were plenty of Scoobs running into the 12s bracket so certainly over 300bhp.
And here is the thing - the 993 is MASSIVELY slower than the 360. In terms of Autocar figures alone - 993 0-100 is over 13s, the 360 is 8.8s
So if a 300bhp plus Scoob is struggling against a 993 is goes without saying that a healthy 360 will leave it in the weeds.
Something to think about.

I've never ran at Elivington so can't comment re: top speeds.
We tried 3 times accelerating from M-road+ speeds - once with the 360 in front, the second starting side by side but me taking the lead on the throttle and the 3rd time side by side with the 360 taking the lead on the throttle. Each time the Subaru showed it was quicker than the Ferrari.
I can't explain why this is or why for that matter my car can make up for 100-200bhp deficits on some other Imprezas.
I wasn't expecting the results to turn out how they did but obviously I am happy that I was able to humble the Ferrari. The driver looked genuinely puzzled

i did. hence the 'alot of these stories...' part making my post a general (and light hearted) point in regards to all these 'i RACE THIS AND IT WAS CLOSE!>!' race threads, and not a direct attack on yours..

If i was about to hand 100k+ of my hard-earned, over to some poncy Ferrari dealer, i'd want to know FOR SURE, that i was gonna be impressed by it and know FULLY that some 350BHP Scoob, isn't gonna give me a hard race!
To me, a Ferrari should never be in a contest with that sort of car and have a hard time of it!
Really surprised me the other day , when i went for a test drive of a CTR. Now i'm used to my 0.5bar, half mapped 2.5 with 20G classic, but i still expected the CTR to be much faster than it was. Put things into prespective a bit and now i've read this thread, i really don't expect to be amazed by a Ferrari, when mine is finally mapped. Such a shame really. No longer can i say, i dream of owning one.....apart from the F40!

Quarter times don't really give an indication to 100mph plus comparitive perforamance hence my comments on the 993 doing very well at top speed and only average on the quarter.
To put it in greater perspective the Yellowbird ran at Elvington could only just get into the 12s at the quarter - but then went on to get 189mph in under 30s at 1.2miles - quite nippy then.
The Scoob can produce astonishingly competitive drag results with four wheel drive - but two wheel drive cars can really pull away from the end of the quarter run.
Bob must have a very torquey car to pull away above 100mph as the Ferrari will cleave the air a little better than the Scoob

My friend has a 360 - the scoob 240bhp is not that much slower until big speeds.
With 340 real horse power I would imagine you would keep up perfectly round a track.
The 360 is still a bit twichy and on uk roads that have not been resurfaced since the early '70s (most) the car can feel skittish.

I'm hoping to find that one I had aplay with before as having rechecked his figures, I can beat him to 60 at least
(Any idea of the weight of your car as I'm hoping for similar times on that sort of power in my pulsar)

Nice.
Bob, is your Scooby std in terms of weight too? Even at stock weight, would I also be right in thinking its lighter than the Ferrari?
