Hi
If the result is already known - then just phone Amstrad HQ and ask to speak to Syed Ahmed then Ruth Badger etc.
The one you get through to works for Amstrad now!!! - so must therefore be the winner!!
Cheers
Steve

" then just phone Amstrad HQ and ask to speak to Syed Ahmed "

you may as well phone and ask for Elvis...more chance of getting The King than The ****!

Looking on the net i've just found out who "doesn't" win....spoiled it a bit now.

Only just started watching the last few episodes and its quite interesting. As Tiggs says Syed provides the best entertainment, like him or loathe him.

Did anyone watch Dragons Den last year on BBC2 also. Really found that programme interesting

Its all a bit Telesales-y for me this time. The mark of a man is seemingly how many George Foreman grills you can shift in an hour. Wish they had challenges that were a bit more demanding of the grey matter than just the patter... Think Ruth is a superb sales machine though and quite straight with it - Syed is full of BS but still quite likeable in a naive schoolboysy sort of way.

i just cant see how the sales skills these people have will translate to the management role they will have? having worked in sales for years the link between a £250k pa salesman and a "good manager" is often not an obvious one! hence they stay in sales!

Syed should be working in a kebab shop!

Can't stand the guy, reminds me of someone I have the unfortunate pleasure of working with.

I like the guy, full of **** but very passionate, focused and driven, and has a VERY strong backbone. Ruth or Ansell to win unfortunately- no one from this year was particularly special.

What none of you have mentioned yet is the supposed '6 figure salary' ( probably 'on target earnings' )

My bet is £9999.99 - sounds a lot sexier if you dont mention the decimal point ;0)

One thing I found odd as well is that they keep referring to the contestants as the UK's 'top entrepreneurs' yet most seem to work for other people ??? I dont think the bloke in my local Spar thinks of himself as an entrepreneur just because he's sold a few bits on Ebay and done up a couple of old motors....

Because they have to display a degree of commercial ability and entrepreneurial flair, otherwise they won't survive at the front end of the business. A good manager would be able to demonstrate those qualities together with man management skills, some knowledge of IT/Finance/Operations/Legal etc and be able to bring all of those facets together.

Without any commercial acumen - then forget it.

"One thing I found odd as well is that they keep referring to the contestants as the UK's 'top entrepreneurs' "

no..clearly they arent. Tuan is a good example...over on pistonheads he has stated that if he had won he would have had to quit his job at the nationwide and moved to london and not for not a lot of extra money.

now i'm sure he is doing great at the building society but if £100k is a pay rise he is hardly a top anything...let alone entrepreneur!

syed drives a 318 it seems!

but then would a "real" business man/woman quit to go work for Sugar on £100k......i'm not Richard Branson but as someone running my own business i suppose i'm the sort who may apply...a few mates (and even clients) have suggested it, as though it would be a step up to go DOWN the pay ladder and under a boss!!!! and i would assume anyone else doing ok would feel the same. still good TV!

T

ps- the application form (online at the BBC site) is quite funny though....more questions to see whos good for TV than whos good for SAS

I couldn't believe AS kept Syed on last week after describing him as "The liar"
Have to agree with the above, that he's only still there for the entertainment value and for someone for AS to beat up.
Ruth has certainly performed best on all the task, but only because she's a very good salesperson. Not sure about planning/management.
Ansell could win, but perhaps too quiet (as Tim last year)
Michelle - she's got a couple of good points going for her

michelle...wouldnt even trust her on reception without spending all day doing her nails!

I dont think many of you post on theinternetforum.com

go on that site and click on The Apprentice, some of the current contestants posto n there as well and of course are limited to what they can tell us.

Btw Tuan also own Tangent Performance where people hire chauffeured sports cars. He owns amongst his fleet of cars a Lamborghini Murcielago (spelling), Ferrari 360 and a TVR Sagaris.

Sign up on the forum guys, its decent

Thanks for that. Downloaded series 5 and its much better so far. Trump doesnt try to act hard but doesnt beat around the bush.

Created by Mark Burnett - that guy must be minted. He does Survivor which is on series 12 in the US and the biggest reality show by far.

Had to laugh at 2nd episode. As a reward they got to suit up 3 guys struggling in life. There is me thinking that 3 guys off the street will get nice suits but....

Bloke #1 I worked in wall street and after 9/11 I just went through the motions for 2 years and found myself on state benefit

Bloke #2 I was a sales mgr bla bla and then I just lost my job out of the blue and have been unemployed for 1 month.

My god those poor poor b*stards. Gotta feel for them......

Syed has no skill at all. He is simply thick skinned and very one dimensional. He is simply dripping with 80s style sales cheese. Its like he's read every sales book but didn't understand a word.

I work not employ him as he's an utter pr1ck.

He's far to aggressive and not even in a good way and I don't think he's very conceptual and totally unoriginal. I nearly wet myself the first one where they were trying to decide a team name and he's coming out with the smae fing answer continually like a broken record. He may seem focussed but whats the point in having a busy fool working for you ! He doesn't seem to think whats he's doing.

Hello, McFly, try getting some of your own ideas and thinking for yourself !

wow......just read pistonheads monster thread with Tuan commenting. I think i want Syed to win now! I appreciate Tuan is a member there but even so!!!! The way they go on you'd think he should have won it! The suggestion he acted like a boring bloke from a bank would get you shot!

SAS has always said its "dog eat dog"......he wants aggresive hungry people that will tread on toes to get what they want - typical businessman in his mind (not really relevant if thats the way business SHOULD be...its his company, he can run it with who he likes)

They talk of maintaining dignity and integrity! Hang on.....its a bloody gameshow! and at best its a monster job interview......who doesnt lay it on a bit thick in interviews? (cant remember the last time a job for someone with some skills went to someone on the basis of integrity!)

Syed may be a ****........but he's got the front to get of his **** and get on the show - and wants to win. good luck to him (although i dont see him winning......which i now think is a pity )

AMS: "I don't like liars. I don't like bull****ters. I don't like arselickers".

Yet the fact that Syed is still in the running seems to suggest the opposite. This show has no integrity left; it seems obvious that some people are kept on just for entertainment value.

Sure it's just a television programme, but it sells itself as something more serious than, say, Big Brother.

Mind you, I'm still addicted
