"we can all think of lots of celebs we find talentless and wonder how they ever made to where they are...?!"

name one????

very few people become famous by accident and to stay famous takes an effort on their part that very few would put up with.

i dont care if your jade goody or chris moyles.....if you actively place yourself in a position to obtain fame then good luck to you.

well youve just named one for me...jade goody...talented...?! i think not...

and i think theres a difference between being talented and good at your job...

yes, fair play for taking her chance when she got it however it came about, but that doesnt make her talented...

call it what you like.....you could not do what she does, she has exploited the limited amount she can do superbly. In fact, on an earnings per brain cell basis she is prob better off than Bill Gates!

Its like laughing at a one legged runner for not being as fast as Carl Lewis......but they still manage to be faster than you

1. i dont know if i could do what she does as i havent had the opportunity.

2. shes not there because she has any talent, shes there because she had a big slice of luck and that is what alot of people in her position have been fortunate enough to have. theres alot of young footballers, singers, actors out there who could be the biggest in thier fields but unfortunately will just not get the breaks through sheer bad luck.

3. do you REALLY think jade goody is talented...???

look, i accept everyone has a different idea of what is good and bad or worthy/not worthy of admiration and accolade (the word opinion seems to becoming a cliche on here...im guilty of overusing myself)...im not trying to change anyones view, but you cant surely believe that every celeb got to where they are by being talented...?

moyles included...!!!

You keep going on about opportunities, another of the UK's " its not fair" type argument, the fact you haven't had the luck.

Opportunities dont just arrive when you sit on your **** at home, you have to hunt them out and find them and THEN take the opportunity - as has been said, people who do well aren't "lucky", they've just made the right choices, or have the right level of talent.

If Moyles was no good, then people wouldnt listen, end of story.

i think the answer to that the question is do i want the opportunity?

fact is, i dont like moyles and i dont think he has any talent...i will concede he is good at his job, but thats about it...

despite what you may think im not jealous or bitter, well maybe a little bitter as its our licence fee thats going towards his wages...

anyway, like ive said previously, im not trying to change anyone elses mind, just stating my case and i dont intend to say anymore on the matter as its hardly worth it...

any and all please feel free to have the last word...

What ever you think about chris moyles some people find him very funny and hence he has had very good ratings. I cannot understand though why the likes of sara *** get paid well as I have failed to meet anyone in the world who doesn't dislike her and the massive ratings drop when she did the breakfast show seemed to bear this out. THe other point would be are these rates reflected by the market they are in. Most salaries are determined by comercial economics. At the bbc they can pay what they like as the tax payer has to fund it so the big question is would any other radio station pay anything like 630,000 for the use of chris moyles or is it a hugely disproportionate wage only achieveable by the 'unique way the bbc is funded'
