idiots that voted in NL that have turned to the BNP. Its proof of their utter stupidity to lurch from one bunch of liars to the next

A recent survey* of BNP voters by social class shows:
ABC1 27.%
C2DE 72.7%
So it is indeed typically the proletariat who indicated that they might vote for the BNP - but not exclusively so.

I'm working on an £85 million yacht at the moment, she belongs to an Arab customer. The service crew has a disproportionate amount of gay men amongst it to which one of my labourers commented that our customer must therefore be gay. When challenged he said, "yeah well, all Pakis **** blokes and that". Later, whilst reading the Sun's coverage of the nurses conference he said "I'm fockin' votin' for the BNP next".
I studied with a chap at college who was very bright (ended up with a first in mathematics), charming and very good company. He also sympathised with the National Socialist movement and voted for the British National Party.
Some of the contributors to this thread have implied that they think a Muslim Scout group will be a hot-bed for suicide bombers (comments were deleted by mods). They've also talked up the credibility of the BNP.
In my experience BNP voters fall into two groups; the intellectually challenged and those who have their ideology rooted in irrational prejudice. Both turn my stomach.

I agree, a "Sun reading labour voter" seemed the perfect put down for someone.
I think now, a "Mail reading BNP supporter" is far more insulting.

I'm ashamed to see the number of BNP votes on this poll.
Soene in my won family is a massive racist whihc is rather hard to deal with when I'm from a mixed race parentage. The person even user to be a black shirt during the 30s. Nothing gets to me like ignorace and intollerance leading to racism.

Not sure you can call all BNP voters right wing racisits, i think you will find some are voting BNP to show thier lack of faith or belief on the big three and thier policies.
However it is easy just to play the race card isn't it, to try to brand people racist and shut them up.

OK - so not "all" the voters are racist. But the party is racist, so I can only assume if you vote for them you are either;
a) Stupid
b) Stupid
If you want to show your displeasure at the other parties policies, then there are other parties to vote for.

The country wants to make a severe show of being totally hacked off.It seems to actually be serious too.Looking at the polls,it won't be other minor parties who attract that vote.

Labour, Lib Dems and Tory policies all apprear to be roughly the same. the Only other parties that appear to be different is the BNP, the Greens and UKIP. to show their displeasure some people may chose to vote BNP, Green and UKIP to make this point.
Does tactical voting make people stupid then?
BTW i seem to be defending the BNP a lot, i am not a supporter but i understand some people feel frustrated at the policital options avaliable to them.
The Tories made a big point of immigration at the last election and lost support and the election, not jsty on that but it was a gamble that did not pay off for them. I am not sure what has changed or perhaps you feel that the UK is turning into sun/sport reading racists for no other reason that they can.
The Poll on SN seems to be in step with the country. I am suprised that the BNP have done as well as they have i thought Labour would have done much better as would the Lib dems.

It is not the BNP who need to change but the big three parties who need to sort themsleves out and define their policies so we can see what diffenciates them from each other and who we want to vote for and why.
Until then the BNP are likely, in fact are to gaining support!
Anyway, just shouting Racist in the hope people will shut up will not work, strong clear policies and leadership will.

As well as BNP being top, perhaps an equally telling result is that NL are currently bottom of the poll
Do BNP candidates stand in every constituency? If not then nationally this poll is not representative of an election result.
Unfortunately these days politics is not about believing in a set of principles and getting elected due to local support for those ideals, but is a career in which getting elected is the end in itself. If someone else is successful then by copying them you increase your own chances of getting or retaining your job. BNP has differentiated itself and the other parties need to catch up, because NL isn't working, copying its policies isn't good enough.

Having said that, even in a community as small as a Subaru car owners forum there will be a wide range of opinions.Don't understand some of the arguments that if you buy a subaru you are tory or bnp biased or whatever.I think any poll anywhere gives you a fair idea of what a cross section think.Unless it was on some 'radical' site.
Still,we will see on the 4th

Cool! i hope it stays that way, i have been playing Devils advocate ( i am sure you know what i mean) i was genuinely suprised by the SN poll i do hope the elections are a wake up call for Labour
Just one final thing, i wonder if the MORI poll had been conducted in the high street mid day midweek if it would have looked the same as a phone poll. Who is to say when they phone, who they phoned.

I think the coming council elections are a good way to send the right message to the political parties.
I could not bring myself to vote for NL because of the mess they have got this country into and which threatens only to get worse until we have gone completely down the tubes. The Conservatives have spent the last 9 years as the worse ever opposition in history and cannot bring themselves to tell us their true policies-if they have any! The BNP has policies which to my mind are insupportable.
There are not many left after all that who could give any credence to their ability to run a country. It is no wonder that there is so much voter apathy these days when we see the sort of self seeking politicians who have no thought for the people of this country.
