and what generally is stronger red or white?
About 15-16% is the maximum you can get in a non fortified wine as anything higher will kill the yeast. Port, masala, sherry etc all have alcohol added after fermentation to bring the alcohol content up to 20% ish.

In my experience the reds rather than the whites tend to feature at the highest end of alcohol content, e.g. big Aussie reds like d'Arenberg Dead Arm is 15%.

Failing which, I've seem some Australian and South American reds up at 14.5% and once a 15%

Bellingham 'The Maverick' Chenin Blanc is 15%. It also happens to taste fantastic, is about £8 and is available from Waitrose, Sainsbury's and Majestic. What are you waiting for?

I never look at the percentage, largely because I'm not an alcoholic pikey

No, because the fermentation process stopped before it was aged and bottled. (Though for champagne and similar sparkling wines they have a second fermentation process in special bottles, but again this is before you buy them).

Unless you're buying pretty high-end wine, most isn't suitable for long term ageing at all and will degrade if it's not drunk relatively soon.

Ok, stand corrected on that...thought the max I'd ever seen was 16%.

Strong white gives me asthma , and is bad for the joints

Strong red is foul, and I don't like red anyway unless its mixed with diet coke ( tastes like sangria )

so that leaves rose....11.5% is fine, goes well with tonic, drinks lots

It's not the reason you're a pikey, but a side effect of said status.

I bet her numberplate is worth more than your car so at least she is a pikey doing well for herself.
