Quick update on the forum situation.
I spoke to the host yesterday and he gave me a transcript of a conversation he had with a support guy. Basically the people in the states decided last firday to upgrade the server without telling my host then had problems with it. He has left loads of support requests with them and they only replied yesterday.
In the meantime on Lum's cunning suggestion I have changed the UKLegacy.com address to point at the yahoo group so hopefully more people will find that until the problem is resolved.

Sorry no dude. I've been awol the last day or so and out of communication mainly but I've heard nothing more about it yet. Still no sign of the forum yet and I am getting really seething about this now.
How was the meet yesterday dude? I did post up on the yahoo group on Friday to wish everyone an excellent day out but it hasn't appeared on there for some reason.

I texted Paul to see how it went and he said you had engine trouble dude. What a bummer. How bad is she?
I'm very relieved indeed that the turnout looks to have been largely unaffected by the forum problems - I was terrified it would have knackered all the plans to arrange this meet!
Fantastic stuff anyway buddy - hope those pr1cks get the forum back up soon so the full story & pics etc can be posted up on there.
Hope you have an absolutely wicked time in Oz too matey just in case I don't catch you later.

Nightmare! Ah well, enjoy the trip and after ogling all those ozzie Legacies/Liberties you can plot what kind of rebuild you'll do mate.
Quick forum update - here's the explanation for the downtime:

My sympathies are with you Luke , I'm in the same boat myself . I just hope you engine isn't as bad as mine .
Sometime in the past a piece has broken from the top edge of no 4 piston & the combustion flame has slowly worked itself past the rings until the rings broke up , scoring the block & no compression on that cylinder .
I got another engine last week & took the heads off it at the weekend . Water has got into 2 of the bores & caused corrosion . I might be able to hone it out but I need to get the pistons out first . I couldn't get the gudgeon pins out so work has stopped at the moment .
Can someone confirm that the bores are alloy & not steel lined ? Would be useful to know before I start honing . Anyone know what lube to use with a set of portable hones in a hand drill ?
Really could do with the forum at the minute for advice . I'd really like to meet the server host to tell them what I think of their service . Thanks to Jim for keeping on to them , hope they get their act together soon .

Keep up the good work in hasseling them, Jim. We all appreciate the work you put in to the forum. I've got to admit that I'm missing my UKLF fix every day, as although I didn't post every day, I did regularly jump in to see what folk were saying.
Is there going to be a need to set up a new forum again, as I for one would be willing to give a donation to help with the costs, as I'm sure most of the regular UKLF members would.
Also, it may be time to ask for a temporary section on Scoobynet (they did manage it for the P1 boys IIRC). Just a thought.

Thanks for comments chaps.
Things are I think looking promising. My other forum has been brought back up today and has all its old data on there. I would rather the Leggy forum had been fixed first as it has over 10 x as many members but it's not up to me sorry.
I am hopefull that the forum will be back very soon now though.....
My host is actually a diamond geezer and has been running himself ragged to get everything back on track. The problem is I believe with managed.com who are responsible for this farcical situation. My host is sort of a re-seller of their space so he can only pass on what he gets told.
Will keep you all posted of course as soon as I know when it's back.
