Im definatley going down but just not sure how yet. My mate is coming and possibly his twin brother but im not wanting to take the car as its costing a fortune in fuel at the minute and one of them has a diesel 306 so im trying to make them drive.
I will let you know what im doing when i know, and if you want a lift with us that should be fine.?
What time are we meeting for this and where?

Sorry guys. Something's come up at work that I can't get out of and it runs from tomorrow through to Friday.
I may have had to pay a visit to a Judge on Thursday anyway, but that's a different story
Apologies guys, Sean and I are gutted...

Gents,
Been down to Silverstone today and it is correct that only one of the Midland cars are running over the 3 days. All other teams have packed up and gone (confirmed by Silverstine management).
However we still had an awesome day as there seemed to be an awefull lot of gates open due to the derigging. i know it was mentioned previously that spectating was restricted to a couple of corners around luffield. This wasn't the case though security thought it was and after a wander around we went through the tunnel and ended up paddock side of the pit garage in use. No point only getting that far so in we all wandered past the spare engine and gear box, past the spare panels, past the room full of blokes tapping away on PC's and into the pit garage itself where the team were playing with the spare car.
Nice, and not been thrown out. Some bloke is on the pit wall with a board with an arrow on it, what could that mean. 2 minutes later F*****K that's noisy in pulls the car only 18" from my feet and they wheel it back into the garage. After a few minutes titting about with it the noise of one being started up in the garage is one not to be missed and off he went.
If he can go on the pit wall can I??
Well in fact yes, the team couldn't give a toss who was there and neither could the safety marshall. We spent the next few laps hanging through the pit board holes listening to the car passing before going back into the garage to have a paw over the spare (spare) car again without the team caring.
This all ended shortly after when a jumped up 12ish year old on a scooter decided he was high and mighty security and we should all have passes to be there, we didn't so had to move off the pit lane. The little tosser got a bollocking though from the safety marshall for riding the wrong way up the pit lane - serves him right.
All in a good and bad day. Disappointing that only 1 car is running through the 3 days but I never thought I would be on the pit wall watching one pass and playing with one in the pit garage. If the security is still lax then worth going, otherwise 300 miles for not a lot.
BTW, major roadworks at M1 Jn 21 slip road, get into the outside lane early (not that you will be anywhere else) and speed cameras on a temporary 40mph section about 5 miles before the circuit on the A45.
Kev

Kev. Great write up and nice one on getting so close
I think the general consensus is that this is a non-starter due to the lack of teams.
Therefore this thread will probably now die unless those on the list (minus Sticky) are willing to make the trip?
